I had 2 does come in this morn. Closest at 7 yards the other about 15.I could only sit -n- watch as the farthest one was looking my way.after about 5 minutes they both moved further off -n- never presented a shot.So close yet so far....next time
Were you in a blind or tree?
In a blind (natural). I had moved to draw.. think that's why the furthest one was staring holes in me and the blind. I didn't want to move again till a clear shot was there. Unfortunately that didn't happen
Bet it was fun to be there, I'd call that a good sit.
Agree a good sit...can't be bummed when chilling in the woods and enjoying nature....Why it's called hunting -n- not grocery shopping. Figure will get a shot eventually.
Sounds like the right spot , be one step ahead of them next time... Good luck...
,,,Sam,,,
That's the kind of day that keeps me going.
It can be tough on the ground sometimes! Good luck next time out!

"If" you move slow enough, you can draw on a deer watching you and they will not notice the movement.
will have to try snail pace drawing sometime...
Oh I hate it when they do that.
Had an old doe with a big fawn do that to me the other day. I was in a popup blind, sun at my back, wind in my face, shoot through screens in place, and not moving a muscle, but she still didn't like something about it. She did the staredown, head bob thing for close to 20 minutes. She never gave me a shot, stayed about 25 yards out and quartering hard to me. Finally she just threw up her tail and trotted off. The fawn looked kind of bewildered but soon followed momma.
Those old does didn't get to be old does by being stupid!
better luck next time :archer:
I have been very conscious lately about setting up FURTHER from the place I expect to see deer. I have a very bad habit of getting too close.
yes
I had a doe 2 yards from by arrow tip one day
All I could do is watch her heart beat
Cool experience
Sure is easier pulling off a shot on one deer than trying to get a shot with a group around you!! Sounds like a great spot, keep trying!!
Believe it or not you're a better hunter for the experience. Next time you'll do better!
