Here is a pic of the new arrows I made!!!! YAY. Also the nock was too big for my serving that I use for my carbon arrows...... I have read and heard many solutions. I chose to dip the nock in boiling water for about 10 sec slight pinch very slight and cold water bath... Then test for fit repeat if necessary. I did it this way so I can just switch between the carbons and the woods without needing to pull of dental floss or whatever.. WORKED SO WELL here is a quick 12 yard group in the back yard.
28 3/4" shafts.

I have no idea how much they weigh... I know I am using 125 grain tips, and that the shafts themselves are within 10 grains of each other. I did everything by fletching one arrow and bare shafting one arrow and did quarter inch adjustments until I was happy with the slightly nock high perfectly straight in the target arrows. Cut the rest to match. They came pre finished and weight matched from footed shaft for 1.83 a shaft! Boning classic nocks and 3 identical parabolic feathers because I couldn't afford two colors.
Not bad for a noob me thinks....... HEY Also wrote my first review on the review page appreciate any feedback y'all!
Thanks for the tip, I always run into this problem and all my arrows are bohning classic knocks.
Awesome Longtoke... I hope it works for you.. I did it on a test arrow I mean you hardly have to do it.
I'm going to practice on some broken arrows first to make sure I get it right.
That is what I did
It's lucky you were resizing the glue on wood nocks rather than the push in carbon nocks. For some reason, the push in carbon nocks are made of much more heat resistant plastic, and I've held them in boiling water for a long time without getting them soft enough to pinch tighter.
anyone figure out a way to remove glued on knocks from wood arrows?
To remove your glued on nocks just put them under a small flame from your gas range or a candle until the plastic is just pliable and they peel right off then lightly sand paper the glue to get back to a smooth surface
I just turn on the hot water faucet and hold just the nock under. Take a pair of pliers and twist. After a few you will know just how long to hold under the hot water.
