Bill and Dick Langer came in this weekend to chase some mountain deer with my buddy Ethan and I, Bill wasted no time putting that Black Widow to work. 1 down, plenty to go! Jim Dussias will also be flying in tonight, maybe he can have the same luck.

Dalton

Congrats Bill.
It sounds/looks like a great Crew. I hope the laughs and great hunting continue. Looking forward to the rest of your stories.

Hope you have a good wind. I have off tomorrow and not on call the weekend. Maybe we can get one down for the puppy.
Just had two big does pass below me heading south...
Im starting to worry about Bill guys, he has 5 tags left and he has let 7+ deer walk today...therapy?
Must be nice. Tim want let me shoot anything. :biglaugh: have fun.
Jeff
Obviously, I was in the wrong part of NC last week! There are usually only about 1/2 dozen/year reported taken by bow(all types) in Graham County.
I never saw a single deer all week. Turkey every day though. :banghead:
Even 4 of them about 20 feet from the end of my driveway when I came home.
Well folks Jim arrived late last night so our group is at full force. Everyone (including ethan and I) are on stand at the moment with bad intentions. Cant wait to see what happens!
Congratulations! Hope to hear more.
Had a spike chase a doe past me this morning
Her tail was out and she peed a couple times.
The rut is creeping in....
Got some yahoo on my trail camera collecting a bloody arrow..

Is that the guy known as the worlds greatest archer at 10 yards and under???
Nope!
Took a better look
Just some yahoo
He looks like a master of his form of hunting. :biglaugh:
Did you guys have any luck yesterday? Tim and I went yesterday morning and didnt see anything. The temp got into the 70's ok we didn't hunt the evening. Maybe this weather front will get them really moving today, and the cooler temps. Good luck
Jeff
The dangedest thing about hunting with this bunch is you cant ever gonto bed because everybody stays up all night laughing and cutting up!
The weather feels alot better this morning and that should help things. Everyone has saw quite a few deer, and everyone has had at least one shot opertunity so i like our odds of dulling more broadeads in the next couple of days.
Now back to my nap in-stand since these sorry jokers wont let me sleep at night.
:campfire:
Jeff- no kills but plenty of deer seen. This weekend looks alot better as far as weather goes. Yal kill something!
:goldtooth:
Wellllll, being the die hard that I am, I decided it was much more appealing to sit in the truck and take a nap this morning. Boy did I mess up! Deer are hitting the ground everywhere!
When I got to Jeff, he had one arrow left. I guess I should of shot one but I knew that we had some work for Ximo to train on. It is training and blood collecting time.
Well, arrows got flung all over the county today cold front moved in and got them stirring.
I dropped off Jim at his stand and headed out to a funnel in my climber. Il put up some pics after while we got some work to do!

Jeff getting down in the fog
Congrats Jeff
Good size deer you got there!
Thanks. bitter sweat. I shot another deer but the arrow only had fat and hair. hopping she makes a full recovery.
Jeff
I have already seen a picture of Dalton's deer. waiting on the rest. :campfire:
Jeff
Well guys you get lucky every now and then, and it was finally my turn this morning.
After taking jim to his stand, i had planned on going back to a spot Dick and I sat 2 days prior. However, it took longer than expected to get Jim to the spot and i had to settle for a shot in the dark in my climber. That turned out to be the righr choice.
About 840 i suddenly saw a deer's butt at about 15yds above me. As he stepped forward, i saw a rack and decided to take him if i could. He walked by at about 15-17yds, slightly quartering away, i picked a spot, held anchor, then watched that white blur of my arra blow through the walking buck like hot butter. 80-100yds later i found my prize!
My biggest bow kill to date, and definitley one i will remember for a lifetime. Jim got all the recovery and comical drag out by me ans ethan on film, cant wait to see how that turns out! What a hunt, having good friends there to share it with made it all.

Awesome buck!
Nice buck, Husky, and congrats on putting your friends on some good hunting.
Well folks, Bill and Dick are on stand for their last time here in NC on this trip. Id say everyone else will chime in when they get some service. All il say is everyone has had multiple opportunities, and all have made good on at least one if them
:goldtooth:
Congrats dalton! That is a bruiser! Congrats on getting it done with a omega!
Jim told me to go ahead and post a couple of hero shots. Maybe everyone will get a chance to weigh-in when the get home to some internet service.

that looks like an awesome weekend, Dalton. Thanks for taking us along!
Wow, you guys had a great hunt! Congratulations to all! I really enjoyed your adventure. :clapper:
Bernie
Another one is in the books and it's one of the most refreshing, fun hunts I have ever been on.
I can't tell you how impressed I am with these young gentlemen. They treated us like family and old friends from the very first moment we arrived. True southern hospitality at its finest!
The old boys tried to work the young guys to death and they kept asking for more, from moving tree stands, long trips into the mountains way before day light and sleeping in their cars and at each other's house to make sure our hunt went well. I was impressed!
I am confident that the young generation of traditional bow hunters in the NC mountains are caring the torch just fine!!
Jeff just sent me a picture text. They shot another huge doe tonight.
Nice going guys
Its true, the A Team was sent in, thisbwas the result. 8yd shot, 75y-100yd recovery.

Sound like a fun time was had by all! Lot's of smiling faces over plenty of bounty sure adds up to fun in my book!
Great going guys.
Fantastic!!!
Oh man, what a great hunt! Dalton, Ethan, and Aaron did an amazing job getting us on deer. Their hospitality was second to none. I think I actually saw the least amount of deer(still a lot) but still got two shots in three days, one was a success the other was one of the worst misses in the history of the recurve bow:)
I get to return the favor this winter when the boys come down to south Florida to chase swine. They've set the bar pretty high but we've got the hogs so they will do just fine!
Thanks again A Team for putting us on 'em!
What a hunt, I can't thank these fine gentlemen enough . Southern hospitality at its best. Dalton,Ethan and Arron are the finest young men I have ever met. When it comes to shooting you had better not bet against them you want them on your team. They asked me which one of my hunts was the best , l told them they are all great but this one will be one of my most memorable bar none . Those boys will make there mark in the pages of traditional archery.Thank you again for all you guys did for us especially this old boy.
It looks like a great time was had, Looking forward to hearing about some of the hunts and jokes played at camp.
Congrats to all who filled tags.
Nice buck Dalton! Sounds like you guys represented NC very well.....
Thanks for the review fellas! We enjoyed the hunt as well, and will have those memories forever.
Some classic lines were spoken by all, but most memorably by Jim as hr explained how getting down from a 14' ladder stand was "dicey" lol
Also, Dick had ethan and i rolling around in the leaves as he got real frustrated trying to find his light in his giant backpack and snapped "to hell with my bag and to hell with my light!"
Il never forget those classics!
:biglaugh:
Sounds like a blast.
