Title: strap on tree steps
Post by: Hunts with left hand on October 20, 2015, 05:19:00 PM
I am interested in hunting with the aero hunter tree harness, but am having a hard time finding out what type of strap on tree steps are out there to use as a platform. I use lone wolf sticks to climb the tree, but need something at the top to step on. I understand the ameristep strap ons are discontinued. Any one ever try the cranford ezy folding rope tree steps?

the "top paws" is what I think you're looking for.

Your options are very limited at this time.  There is a site dedicated strictly to saddle hunting where they discuss every option out there at the present time.  If you haven't checked it out yet, I encourage you to do so.   Ameristeps are still the preferred method but they are hard to come by and go for about $20-25 each if you can find them.

2 ezy (I think Cranford) steps from Basspro and your LW sticks as the middle steps is all you need.

Yep, except I would think the short muddy stick would even be better.  You can put both of your feet on the stick in the middle area.

If I can find them I had some strap on steps at one time.  Don't remember brand.  I didn't much care for them, but if I can find them I will let you know and get you a picture of what they are.
