Just like they have been since day one. Many many know this, but there's a lot of folks that are new that don't know the protocol since our birthday March 13th 2003.
This is not a slam on compounds, but this is TradGang and we ARE going to stick to the vision and rules we started with. We are not going to start making exceptions to this rule. (except for St Judes which gets a free pass on anything)
So please, save us and yourself some grief and don't post about compounds or any other none tradition bowhunting weapons.
Also, if any of ya'll members would, post on this to keep it near the top for about a week if I dont' post on it. This is getting out of hand and any help from you long time guards would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
:campfire:
I'll be darned. Tradgang was born on my birthday! Well, actually fifty years after the original, lol. We'll keep this at the top for you, boss. Plenty of other sites for the wheelie world. Thanks for keeping this one all trad.
You got it Terry! :archer:
Can't believe this even has to be said. Thanks Terry and all the moderators for keeping it pure.
It is beyond me why someone would even think something like that was the least bit pertinent to this site.
Back up
No problem here. I have never owned a compound or hunted with one.
How about rifle kills and Car kills? Ok Just kidding... Not allowed :nono: .
TTT
Well said Mr. Green. ..OE
I really appreciate this site honestly I do.. May get banned for voicing my opinion on this.. Not my site so do what you want, but..
My daughter hunts with me.. She shoots a compound.. Is it
"wrong or bad" if I post a pic of us? I like this place. Made some of the best friends I've ever had from here.. Honestly great friendships that will live on..
I know I could just email them the pic and not put on here, but just want to voice my opinion.. I was always taught to stand up for what I thought was right...
IN any case, thank you for this site.. I won't break the rules.. Just humbly disagree with the tone that goes forth from some of my brothers on this issue.
Steve
That's good.
Traditional Only Hombres!
Thank you.
I don't know why it's SO HARD for people to understand. ...."STRICTLY STICKS"!!! the moderators and people involved try to do there best to make this site such a great place and there's always a few that just don't get it!!
Trad Only!
Thats why I've been here since almost the beginning. I dont post alot but I always read.
I love this place.
Keeping it real. Well done! :clapper:
Trad Gang....!
longbows and great danes. nothing better
I've been noticing this myself. Started a couple times to mention something about it but didn't. Didn't wanna seem out of line just hoped it would die down. Good job Terry.

I can understand that point of view and the fact that you want to share your experience with other archers.
I also understand why the moderators want to draw such a sharp line in the sand. Traditional archery is a very very small club. Everywhere on the internet, in the stores, and on the television all you can find is compound bows. This is a haven for trad guys, this is their secret spot and they just want to keep it pure. Give an inch take a mile type of deal, if they weren't so strict this would just become another compound/crossbow site.
TTT for Terry.
ttt
thank you and yes bare bow wheels is still wheels.

It's always been my understanding that kill photos were of trad kills only. When my kids kill something without a stick bow I post it on another site. I'm good with that.

x2 what longoke said. ..OE
Terry, consider making this a 'sticky' so it will remain at the top always.
Thank you Terry G.

What gets me is that folks AGREE to the terms and conditions in private when they register, then DISAGREE with them publicly.
One guy a few weeks ago, who had been here since 2009, said this place wasn't for him if his post was removed that includes a pic of a compound kill.
This is what I have to say about that------> :knothead:

Same as my property trad archery only. I was only kidding about the cp, that thing got thrown in the trash the day it arrived.
Plenty of compound sites. Thanks for keeping it pure
I also started to say something about compounds being posted. But I didnt wanna cause a ruckus.
Thank you Terry and the other moderators for keeping Tradgang Trad!
That's why we are on this site! Thanks!
Agree. This is no place for wheels.

I think its good and bad, I had a thread that was deleted that allot of stick bows guys could have benefited from, esp the new guys taking up ground hunting.
It was not bashing, trad or a compound, it was simply talking about ground hunting.
Was some real good post about what weapon really had the advantage in that situation.
TTT
Here's how you handle that Keb....
"The benefits and advantages of stickbows on the ground"
No need to mention the compound at all.....
No need to make it an X versus y......just leave y out if it.
:campfire:
Honest question here. Does this include mentioning them in passing? For example, a guy asks about a specific scenario and someone replies, "back when I was shooting a compound........., but now with a recurve.............". I believe I may be guilty of this at some point or another and apologize if it's not ok. Definitely agree about keeping it all trad, but never really thought about it much for just a casual mention. Thanks for all you do.
'In Passing' is fine...no problem...that's not what I am referring to at all. I'm talking about topics and hunt stories and pics.
Again, I hunt with folks that shoot compounds on occasion....not bashing, not being elitist, not claiming anything superior....just this is TradGang, that's all.
Yep...
,,Sam,,
Thanks Terry, not a hot tip but this is a Traditional Archery Site, it's pretty easy to understand.
Good job Terry and all mods.
TTT
Wouldn't have it any other way!
Good luck, shoot straight and God bless,
Rodd
Why is it when you state no to something someone always thinks they should be the exception to the rules.
Thank you Terry for sticking to your guns (so to speak).
This reminds me of our annual Trad-Only archery golf event. Several years ago we had an issue with someone's wife wanting to shoot a compound at the event. A few feathers were ruffled in the process.
SHE was welcome to join us, not the compound bow. We had lots of real bows that could be borrowed for the day.
All archers are welcome, it's the compound bow that is not.
Same goes here. Pretty simple really.
UUUUUUUUUp top :readit:
yep...just because dont want them here does not mean there is any hatred or dislike of the people using them....we are just different here. Not good or bad...just different.
glad this is kept Traditional Only....thank you.
I have nothing against compound bows or the folks who use them. In fact, I bought one and used it while rehabbing elbow tendonitis. My sons shoot compound bows, and I still love them anyway. There are MANY places online where you can get information about compound bows, tuning advice, post hero pics and so forth.
Coming here is like coming home again. Folks here share to joy of watching the flight of a well tuned arrow, the sexy curves of a recurve bow, the traditional D shape of a longbow, the light weight and silence of a traditional bow. Coming here and seeing compound bow posts would be like coming home and finding a stranger sitting in your favorite chair, drinking your beer, and watching American Idol on your television. That's just not right!
Keep Tradgang trad. Post your compound stuff on sites that cater to that type of bow.
Very well said 30coupe. I could not agree more.
Unfortunately, it is comments like this one from another post...
"SHE was welcome to join us, not the compound bow. We had lots of real bows that could be borrowed for the day."
...that drives a wedge between the trad group and the other types of archers/hunters.
Why not just say "trad bows"?
Yes Trad Only on Tradgang, makes perfect sense to me.
Yuppers ttt

Thanks for keeping it strictly trad. If you made 1 exception then we would be like the other sites arguing about everything.
Look around on other sites it's being allowed. It's not right! Thank you Terry for standing up doing this it separates gang from the others that are allowing.
Just doin' my part to spread the word...bttt
Such a simple rule. ..I'm amazed Terry needs to remind us. Great site, honestly, just about the only bowhunting site I frequent.

I'm GLAD we're TRAD!! TTT

Thank You Terry Green for standing by your Principles. Just got into a HUGE argument that's been going on for the last couple of days over on *********** about this very same subject.

That is probably what I appreciate most about Tradgang. We do have some lively discussions here, but we keep them respectful, unlike other sites that almost seem to promote flaming threads.
Thanks for keeping this place both trad and friendly, Terry. :clapper:

haven't been on in a while but I'll do my part and TTT
Trad Gang... yup, a traditional bow only site... and it's much appreciated!
AMEN!!!!
The two best things I like about Tradgang - NO rudeness, and all the great sponsors!
TTT
I couldn't find this thread yesterday... strange.
The rules are very easy to read and understand, it makes you wonder why some feel that it dosen't apply to them. Trad site so trad talk only, thank you Terry.
Yup. Nothing against non-trad, or black powder hunting, or fly fishing; they simply are like books on the wrong shelf of the library in here. Following the rules simply makes it easier to find what we're looking for when we come to this site, which is upfront about the topics that are appropriate for discussion.
TTT
TTT....... :archer2:
keepin' it trad only - one post at a time.
Up
Let's keep it around a little longer!
This is a nice reminder but if they don't read the rules when they join why would they read this. But I think we should keep it going.
I appreciate this being kept a Trad bow only site . Thanks

They might not read the rules..... but hard to miss the tittle of this thread.

We evenv had a thread about someone being fired from ducks unlimited.....Geeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I just saw one......maybe this needs pinned to the top?

Thanks guys for helping me keep this up for a while...no need to sticky it....its probably run it course...and folks will 'mod alert' any other thread such as the ones I'm referring to.....
