I was replacing the old worn out rug on this old 1975-1976ish grizzly I purchased and I noticed the numbers "667" were hastily scribed on the shelf. It was the same white ink that was used to scribe the draw weight and serial number on the bow.
Does anyone know what these mean?
I have no idea. I have watched the video made by Bear where they go to the factory and watch them make a Kodiak magnum. They write the weight behind the strike plate on the riser, but the 667 doesn't make any sense. Unless its the date maybe? Are you sure it's a 75-76?
not sure at all if its a 76, from what I have gathered the 1970s bows are very hard to date but based upon riser/glass color and some information from people much more knowledgable than myself, 1975-76 seems to be the best guess.
but yeah it has 49 under the strike plate and 667 under the rug rest...
My greenie kmag has similar scribbles on the shelf other than the # behind the side plate. I'm curious what it means myself
What is the serial #?
Good thing it didn't say "666". Might have worried me a bit. :bigsmyl:

Has me scratching my head...
Those wide stroke numbers and letters do not look like Bear factory writing...my guess is that someone refinished that bow and added the number on the shelf at the same time for their reference
