Wow it's been like 6 hours. What's the holdup? What kind of person would do this to a group of guys he calls his friends? Just plain cruel. Congrats to the boy. Just hope he grows up to be a more decent human being than his old man. ;)

Third that. I even got a face book account trying to see something. Damned to think I know what I'm doing on Facebook though.
Can't wait for the story.
:archer2:
I figured I'd wait a few days... Maybe a week. Should be something by then...?
Since this thread started I hung vinyl siding on 3 sides of my garage, watched 2 hours of the walking dead, slept 7 hours, worked 9 hours at my day job and I just got back from watching my sons football game. I think it's been long enough Curt :D
Well I openly profess to hate face book... For years now! From camp I opened an account and sent Curt a friend request! Lol no answer lol them boys are playing tough...
Sorry fellas....don't get a lot of time to get here...
Most of this will have to be done in pix....
The evening before we didn't hunt, but we did get in two separate practice sessions...
We were excited to get into a brand new double stand set up we'd put up a couple weeks ago...."The Poison Ivy Tree". I just knew it was going to be good if the wind held.
Cade was struggling to stay awake, as we'd hunted the morning before as well.
He was sound asleep when the first deer showed up....behind us...I instantly knew it was a big "shooter" as some like to say!
I woke him up with a boot nudge to the back, and whispered not to move...
As it turned and started to come by, I told cade to slowly get ready to shoot....as I readied the camera...
As usual, everything seemed to be happening way to quick!
I'd barely got the camera and myself turned around when I heard Cade whisper..."stop her", but wasn't quite there yet and when I looked she wasn't quite broadside yet....
But a second later she was quartered away at about 16yds. and a quiet "maaa" stopped her in her tracks....
Cade got to about 3/4 draw and banged his elbow right into the camera!
I was instantly mortified and withdrew the camera as quickly as possible!
Somehow he held it together in that split second and continued his draw and unleashed an absolutely great shot!!!!
The Grizzly Instinct tipped Axis arrow disappeared thu and flipped out the other side!
Cade's first words were..."perfect shot"!!!!!!!
He was right!!!
The orange(painted red) spot above the EFA quiver is the arrow with blood soaked fletch...
I apologized for getting the camera in the way...I felt terrible.....but he had somehow held it together and made a perfect shot!
I told him the I don't think I could have done it any better....TRUTH!!!
Then I realized another terrible truth....I'd turned the camera on, but hadn't mashed the record button hard enough in my haste....no footage!!!
Mortified again!!!!!
So much so I almost made myself physically sick! It was like I'd just missed a chip shot at a P&Y!!
The only saving grace is that I had the Sony action cam set on Cade as a second camera angle.....so you can see his elbow hit the camera and follow thru with a great draw and release, hear the arrow hit and his priceless reaction!!!!
I'd goofed up, but he'd done phenomenal!!!
Close up from the stand...
I just couldn't get over the fact that I'd not only forgot to press the record button hard enough, but I'd also got the camera in his way....he was quick to keep saying to me..."don't worry about it, even the guys on tv goof up"...
We waited about 45mins. and saw several other deer, but I couldn't hold Cade back any longer...it was time to climb down and take up the trail...
Checking out the arrow...
First blood...
Headed straight down an old grown up logging road...
Looking good...
it wasn't long, about 100yds., and he was standing over his trophy...
As we found his "big one"...
An absolute TANK of a doe!!!

She was a beautiful deer(my favorite pic)...

Great Shot Cade. Way to keep your focus after hitting the camera arm. I would have biffed it.
There is NO way I could hunt that tree. All I have to do is look at Poison Ivy and get it (Badly). I avoid it like the plague but still get it off the dogs all summer.
Good luck the rest of the season.
