ok I promise I'm not going to post about every hunt! but this one very special. my mother owns 5-6 acres sandwiched in between a few houses and then there about an 800 acre block of woods connected to it. I can only hunt her land. I have killed a few deer here but it has been years . anyway my 10 yr old son has been shooting his new compound a lot and has taken an interest in hunting . so we had this little afternoon hunt planned for a week. I pick him from school early and he said he couldn't concentrate all day thinking about this. so we get in there and using natural ground blind I had low expectations, just wanted him to hunt. he had his bow and was planning on shooting squirrels. we sit for an hour and then out of the blue I look to my right and here comes this beautiful 6 pt at 10 yds! I couldn't believe my eyes. Brady leans over and quietly sAye " is that a deer?" lol! I said yes don't move. the deer never gave me a shot and he soon got weary and knew it wasn't right and got out of there. but what a cool thing for him on his first bow hunt! btw, he did get to full draw on a squirrel but could not get him in his peep sight. I looked at him and said we need to thank Jesus for this day.
 Thank Him for sure!

God seems to make things like that happen when a father is taking his son in the right direction so something good can be etch in his memory forever. I know you will never forget it and I'll bet neither will he. Good on you!!!
I got a shot on Tuesday and missed and I didn't think it could get much better being my first season with a recurve. then the Lord laid this in my lap tonight! a memory has been made for us both and not first drop of blood was spilled. what an awesome thing

Awesome!
That's awesome.
A great experience for sure.
Bet that lit the fire in your son! Awesome day in the woods.
Greygoose he is still in shock. All he kept saying was how the buck looked him in the eye. What he doesn't realize yet is that he made a connection with one of God's creatures that he will forever be linked to.
 Cool stuff.
yup I remember those days with my son. Nothing like it!
