Title: Question for bowyers

I shoot hybred longbows and recurves. My longbows range from 48# to 54#. The recurve that I shoot the most is a Bear 44# Kodiak Mag. I've went through all of the trials and tribulations of bareshafting arrows for my longbows, but I can take a shaft that is too heavily spined for my longbows and pick up my 44# K-Mag and they shoot great. I believe the reason why is because the Bear K-Mag shelf is cut either to center or a bit past center. Here's the question. Why aren't more of the hybred longbows cut either to center or just past center? It would make tuning arrows alot more easy. Just wondering. I know there's probably a good reason why. john, in my neck of the woods most clubs will not allow a center shot long bow to shoot in the traditional class they must shoot with the recurves, if this is not a problem with you it should be simple to get a bowyer to make a center shot long bow or rework one you have   IMO
