Title: Thunderchild out of retirement
Post by: pdk25 on October 04, 2015, 11:15:00 PM
After I got back from my September elk hunt, I wanted to start shooting some of my quieter bows because when I hunt out of some of my plastic ground blinds, the noise is really amplified.  A good time to bust out the thunderchild again.  I took it out today, and a group of eating size hogs came in.  I shot the largest of the group. which was probably only around 80# or so.  Too bad nothing bigger came in, because I needed 150# to get to an even ton with the thunderchild.  Man, that is a nice shooting bow.

Anyway, the hogs were so close that I had to short draw a little to not get busted, and I think the broadhead clanked the offside shoulder.  Not matter.  The tigershark did it's job, with blood literally spraying out and soaking the entire arrow, which fell out after the hog ran 15 yards or so and headed into the thick drainage. I figured it didn't go far.  Massive blood trail which ended in around 20 yards, and yet somehow that hog went another 30.  I think it was bled completely out.

My wife wanted to cook a boneless pork roast tonight, and it is all ready to go.

Thanks guys.  Felix, great minds think alike, lol.  I would like to add that the tigershark was sharpened with Nothing but a RADA wheelie sharpener.  Pretty sure that is all I would ever need for these heads unless I put a big gouge in it from a rock or something.
