so I have hunted a few times out ground blinds with no success. (pop ups) for those who use pop ups, how much further in advance do you pop em up before you actually hunt them. some people put them up just days before some people do weeks and some do months, while others pop em and hunt right then.... my experience has always been bad when I try to pop em and hunt . they always freak out when they see em. even when I do a really good brush in. so let me hear your tips and advice for the pop up
Popups I like to leave several weeks really well brushed in before I hunt them. Deer seem to not even notice them. For some places I want to hunt the same day I build natural blinds and have had good luck with deer not busting me.

this is what I am thinking also. they just pick that big tent right out. once they realize there is no danger in it they get comfy
Depending on where we are. If public land we go in set them up then brush in then hunt out of them. Sometimes we get a couple of spots brushed in so the next trip we just carryour blind in and set up in the brushed in area. On private land we can leave them up. So we set them up and brush them in we could hunt then or wait a week or so.
if have some really thick and tall honey suckle. Along an edge of a field or wherever want to take a shot. Go around to back side of the thicket and cut u a path into the center and hollow you out a spot to set ur blind. Then open your windows facing where your shot will be and cut the window out of the honey suckle. Dont cut to much. If I can Ill try post some pics.
Main thing is to cover the top of the blind with limbs vines what to break up the roof out line.

I only hunt private land, so I don't use popups. I use homemade permanent ground blinds, and they work awesome!

all private land for me as well. I will just have to try em both
The only reason I like popup blinds on private land is to get out of the elements. They are just for bad weather so I can still hunt.
I try to brush them in a couple weeks before I plan to hunt them, but I've had good success within a couple of days, provided it is brushed in really well.
Shed hunter has the right idea. That's how you brush in a blind, I would hunt out of those the same day as setup. I imagine how wary and pressured the deer are in your area play a lot into how much they notice a blind.

Ive hunted out of these on presured public ground the same say. Deer dont seem to pay much attention unless they smell ya, but you cant fool their nose.
