I've never gotten into the "science" of tuning arrows
I'll be shooting carbon arrows out of a 60# recurve with ~ 150 to 160 grain point . My draw length is 27"
What length shaft do i need to start with before I start trimming length down
my guess is to start with full length shaft and go from there

Not knowing any other info, I'd say that was a good guess!

Ken Beck's method for tuning arrows has always worked for me.
Arctic hunter do you have the link to the ken beck method
If you are drawing 27" you would be around 57lb. If you are shooting say a GOLD Tip Traditional in the 400 hundred class with 160 up front, full length which I think now is 30.5 inches you might fine that it is just fine. If the spine is weak just reduce weight up front or cut a quarter inch at a time off. Some will say an eighth inch at a time. My bow at 57lbs works great with that combo.
Easy to find... YouTube and search for ken beck arrow tuning or I know this video is on the Black Widow web site..
Producer, my bow was tillered to be 60# @27" if that matters
Yeah. Just go to black widow's website and go to videos on the far right.
Here ya go
