Title: Arrows For JD Berry Morning Star
Post by: danshao on September 29, 2015, 05:46:00 PM
Hello fellow gangers,

I recently ordered up a JD Berry morning star 47-48@29" (which is where I actually draw) and since I don't have enough experience for arrow selection for the ASL's, I would love to hear your opinions in terms of what arrow specs would you suggest?

I'm leaning towards the 2018's cut to 30" with 145 or 190 gr point upfront (just my guestimate following all the charts and software I can find online) also because 2018's are so solid built and seems indestructible from my experience.

What do you shoot out of your berry bows and obviously pictures are welcome too   :)

Thanks
-Dan

My Morning Star is not cut quite as close to center as most of my other bows. It's 47@28 and I draw just a hair over that. I shoot pretty much the same arrows I shoot out of my 43# RER and 42# Treadway Black Swamp. Probably 3555s with 200 gr up front or maybe a tad less since you're drawing a bit farther.

I also have some 45 - 50 woodies with 125 up front that shoot well from it.

My Morningstar is 52@27 and I am shooting both Sitka spruce and Doug Fir 50/54 spine 27 inches  BOP 125 grain up front and they fly like  darts

thanks for the input guys! really appreciate it  :)

since I'm kinda cheap when it comes to arrows, I'm gonna give the 2016's a try, which is comparable to the 3555 shafts.
