Scores, had him hunt in my bow only area and let him choose from 19 stands on 37 acres. He seen a nice buck and than it happened. He may come on but we are dead tired. I will say he was shooting a Morrison Arapaho that I gave him and it is his first Trad kill, more later. Probably in the morning. It was an awesome hunt and shot!! Shawn

One last tid-bit before bed. He saw 30+ deer this am. and had two shots at the same doe and missed clean. This shot was high in the shoulder and almost came out just behind off leg. I think I am more excited than him, it is nice to have a son-in-law who hunts and fishes as I have 3 girls and though they love the outdoors they do not hunt! Congrats and come on and tell the story at some point. By the way he is bringing me to the spot he saw the 30+ in the morning!! Good Night!!! Shawn

What a perfect opening day. I hunt the morning and had deer moving all around me. It seemed like I could do anyhting I wanted in my stand i had a big doe 20 yards and let one fly.A branch 5 yards away deflects the arrow. She didnt move just looked around so I nocked another arrow sit up high to clear the branch and let it fly. It was a perfect shot for an alert deer but she didnt jump the string and it passed right underneath. Then the afternoon hunt I went with Shawn to the dream property. A nice buck walks by but never gives me a clear shot. Then i hear something from the same direction behind me that the buck came from. I turn to look and see a few turkey looking for a roost.Turning back towards the corn field I see movement and a doe steps out and looks straight under my stand at the turkeys. With her facing straight at me i wait and another doe steps into my lane right behind the first and stands broadside. I draw slowly aim and let it fly. The doe busts through the corn with the arrow sticking out. I do the ooohh yeaah dance in my stand and sit and wait.I was amazed that I got her.Needless to say I'm hooked for life. Thanks Shawn and great tracking job.

Yup, it was perfect. I track blood, but I also try to figure what the deer will do and the direction it will head, we had lost blood and I was exploring evry route I thought she would take and was on my way back to Damon, who says I see white on the run ya thought she went on and sure enough I shine the light down in and there she lays. We are not much for picture taking, but when we get her down to skin, we will try and post a pick. It was a nice shot on a nice mature doe, around 110#s dressed! Shawn

Damon congrat's. You have a heck of a coach and what's better then to have a Father-in-law then to have one you call a "buddy". I don't know many son -in -laws who can say that. That says alot Shawn.
