Well, after wanting & waiting for over 40 years... I bought a brand new Bear Custom Kodiak Compass T/D this year!!!!! :bigsmyl:
She sure is SWEET!!!!! 2 Tone Bubinga A-handle, with 50# Bubinga & White tipped #1 limbs. Mounted a new Great Northern side mount bow quiver. Then filled it with cedar arrows that my son Tyler made for me. 55-60# 29" BOP Fletched with 2 Orange Hen feathers & an Orange Barred Cock feather and Orange Classic nocks. All are tipped with old green Bear Razorheads!!!
To say I'm feeling LUCKY, is a HUGE understatement..... :archer:
I am again hunting with Bear TDs this year , great bows...
,,,Sam,,,
I'm in post some pics this weekend! Early 80s brown/green strip B riser #3 limbs 53lbs, and the back up tbd...
Hey Chucker, good luck with her!! I shot Don (Bowdoc) Ward's '72.....one of the smoothest bows I've ever shot!! I may break down and get me one, one of these days!!!
All I've carried the last few years. I have three "go to" rigs set up for this year.
Bubinga "A" riser with 57 pound #3 limbs shooting Surewood shafts.
Two Tone "A" riser with 62 pound #3 limbs shooting Beman Centershot .340's and VPA Terminators.
Gray Futurawood "A" riser with 55 pound #3 limbs shooting .400 Beman Centershots and Terminators.
I got mine out yesterday, if I get to go out I may take the old girl for a walk. Mid 70's B Mag with #3 limbs for a 64" bow, 46# @ 29. I also have a A mag riser same vintage.
I started this spring with a B Mag and shot my Turkey with it. This fall I'm using an A Mag first and then I may use the B Mag I used this spring.
I am using my two tone
Bubinga/grey diamondwood,A riser, 47@28 red tips, 150 Magnus 2 blade Stingers, 1916 Easton gamegetters.
I got my first Bear TD the first part of the year from Big Jim, I've wanted one for years and finally bought one, It's an A two tone riser with
#3 limbs 47@28. I feel it will be my go to bow for a long time. Next weekend will be the first time to hunt with it, I'll be hunting in Northwest
Louisiana. Good luck to everyone!!!
Well if I get to hunt this year it will be with my Greenstripe TD , with late model 60lb limbs. It is my Go To bow.
I am, 64lb A-riser two tone, and grey A-riser (red stripe) killerd an elk thus far, waiting on deer season to arrive.
Friend of mine in NY is shooting his A mag better than anything else right now; so he says bring one of your Bear td's to NY. I dusted off my A mag, put a set of #3 48#ers on and will hunt NY with it this fall. It's been awhile.

Hunting with a Type II A-riser and 50# Dave Windauer No.3 limbs
Hey...we have some new Bear TD s in stock ...limbs and risers and they are on SALE...

Several years ago I bought a "B" Magnesium bow. It was one of the silver/black ones and not exactly what I wanted so I customized it.
I don't remember who I got the idea from, but it worked out great. Thanks! (seems like it was JimB from Montana)

Then a couple of springs ago while visiting a friend out west he brought out a riser he'd found at a local garage sale.
I didn't have to look twice and knew it was a bow I had history with. Matter of fact it was obvious from the way it was set up that I was the one that had done the work.
Anyway, I traded him out of it and that's my hunting bow this year. "B" Mag riser(first gen) with "C" limbs (64" bow) 55#@28". Except for adding a bow quiver and arrow holder I made no changes to it.
I'll add that I owned a first Generation "B" wood riser bow in 1969. Why I let it go is a long story.
I'd love to have another as it was one of the shootingest bows I've ever owned, but they are just too pricey for this old man.
Got her tuned up buddy?
I sat the gap once to see what I could see. Passed 4,saw 3 more, and 6 on the way out... :bigsmyl:
Yeah Kenny, if I can I want to sit that gap again. I'll have my Bear in hand and it's shooting so sweet.
Arrows are sharpened as are my skinning knives.
I'll take one of the old Bear TDs out for a hunt once or twice this year -- maybe more.
Bubinga B Riser with #1 50lb limbs for me.

Here is me and Don ( DWT ) with my bull from our Colorado several weeks ago ( Don shot a big cow with his Bear TD the week prior ) so we both shot elk on the same mountain with Bear TDs and old Razorheads....

I use one of my Green Stripe few time a year, they are great shooting bows, quiet and accurate. Most of the times I have Rose Oak limbs on them.
Hmmm, looks like about 19... Anyone else??? :bigsmyl:
I will be using an A-mag 56" about 50 lbs at my draw in trees and ground blinds with bear razor heads.Really liking this little bow.Kip
I bought my bear take down new in 1971, still use it today. She has taken many deer since 1971. The picture is from last week here in Pa.

I have an A mag riser and would/will be hunting with it but had to send limbs back to Bear to fix it so Im waiting.....
That's cool on the Elk's Sam and Charlie...best of luck with that Bear this fall look forward to the pixs!!!!!
I'll be using an old A mag with number 2 limbs, making a 58" 50-51# bow at my draw. Owned this bow for many many years, they're great shooters.
I might be. I just bought my first Bear TD from a fellow tradganger last week and waiting for it to arrive. It's a B mag with 50# red tip limbs. Can't wait to get her tuned in.
I'll be taking my green stripe with me this year. It is sporting a set of new 50# red tip limbs. A friend (I'd mention his name but not sure if he wants to build arrows for everybody) built me some very nice woodies with Green caps, tan shafts with black, white and gold cresting to match the riser. They sure look pretty together.
2012 B riser and #2 Rose Oaks for me this year. It's the only bow I have set up and planning to use it 100% of the time this year.
Decided on the Mag B w/ 45# 3's this year... sooo smooth compared to the 1's. Love that grip too. The others will be on the rack this fall!
The last thirty two years, this year and God willing next year.
