Several years ago I got this recurve as a JD Berry bow. There are no markings on it. I measured it at 60" (has a 55" string), 50@28 I was told, birdseye maple riser, brown glass back and belly, walnut cores-I think, tip overlays and a single piece of black glass (?) overlay at the grip. A very nice shooting bow. Any ideas on the bowyer?

No idea on the bowyer, but it looks well constructed. having that glass run clear through the belly side of the grip really cuts down any riser flex..... Good looking tip work too.
Looking at the limbs shape i'll bet shes a good shooter. I'd love to see that bow at full draw and see where the working portions are.....
I had that bow and traded it. I'll PM you
Here you go, Kirk.

Thanks for the info, Ben.
Beautiful bow
I am not familiar with J D Berry's recurves but the work, tips in particular look like James work. Why don,t you call James and ask hip to look at your photos. James is a member and sponsor.
Kinda looks like a Saxon Selkirk to me.They came in 58" and 62".I had a few 62 inchers. They were an excellent 50s style recurve that had the overlays like that on the belly side of riser. They were his higher end recurve along with the Saxon Hawk curve that had scynthian shaped riser and set back grip and overlays like yours as well. Most did have clear glass and some had a diamond shape flowing into a pinstripe inlay on the back limbs.Like Berry used to do on his Taipans and vipers etc.I think Randy of Saxon may have been very influenced by Mr. Berry?
James had arrow inlays in the riser of the recurves I have seen.Does not look the Berry's I have seen. But its certainly possible
Steelhead is right on info. That bow was maybe made in the early 90s if not a few years before. ..OE
