I am looking at the Blue Ridge currently. This will be my first nicer longbow and wanted to hear any current owners opinions and thoughts on it. I have read some good things, but just want to see what I can drum up. Learned on a Sage, upgraded to a Bear Montana and am looking to acquire a new hunting bow. I definitely want a takedown since my Montana has been a little challenging while traveling. Open to other suggestions as well. Thanks! :archer2:
I'm guessing Bisch will be along shortly.... :dunno: He kill lots of animals with a blue ridge, just open the highlights forum.
I had the honor of shooting Miss Faith 2014, which was a Blueridge SR. Let me tell you, it was one of the smoothest and consistent bows I have ever shot. If I had the chance to purchase a bow like that I wouldn't hesitate.
I'm here!!!!
I have known Bob Sarrels for a very long time, and we are great friends and hunting buddies. That being said, I did just like everyone else for years; I would buy all kinds of different bows, both Sarrels and other brands, and shoot them for a while, and then move on to the next one.
That all changed in 2009, whan I got my first Blueridge. I have only gotten one new bow since 2009, and that was another Blueridge at almost the exact same specs as my old one, just because I got the hankering to have something new.
While I can't tell you what you will like for a bow, I can tell you that the Blueridge is as good a bow as there is out there, and I will be shooting mine for a looooooong time to come!!!!
I don't think you will be one bit disappointed if you get one!
Also, since you are here in TX, you might want to take a weekend and come the Austin. Go to Bob's shop and he will let you shoot any and all bows he has on his rack!
Bisch
Thanks guys, I have noticed Bisch that you have definitely been successful with your Blue Ridge. I sent Sarrels an email and will try to give them a call tomorrow. I think I am going to go this route. I'm driving to TN when Xmas comes around so might have to plan a stop there on the way.
