Title: bear recurve question? no medallion?
Post by: Lordswarrior on September 23, 2015, 08:01:00 PM
why would a bear kodiak hunter not have a coin on it? i'm thinking about buying it but wondering if this is normal or not . the serial # is kt80672 and it is marked 40x# which i know means it's probably 42 or so.
thanks for any input

Not sure what age bow you have but some medallions were glued on the surface rather than inlaid.  They occasionally fall off.

so far only saw pics of the bow. can't see any shadow of where a coin used to be. i'm thinking it must be a 70's model.

"ALL coins were flush with the wood until 1972. In late 1972 the coin was raised above the surface of the bow and came in both gold and chrome covered plastic and are still used in Bear bows today "

Found this, serial# starting with k were from the 1970s. I'll bet that medallion fell off.
