Title: Help with wood selection-- Photos?
Post by: jleidy on September 21, 2015, 02:12:00 AM
Hey Gang,
I will be having my first custom bow built for me this fall. I am strongly leaning towards a Maddog Prairie Predator. I have heard great things about them and the price is right. I am hoping that some of you can post some photos of your bows to aid in my decision. I am looking for darker woods with lots of grain/character/burl for both the riser and limbs.
I really like cocobolo, bubinga, shedua, black walnut and rosewood.
Thank you all in advance. You guys are great.

I will be unable to answer any questions/respond to comments for the next 6 days as I am heading up the hill to hopefully whack an elk with my 1965 Kodiak!

I would just tell the bowyer what you like for a color and let him do his magic. They  do know their stuff.
