Title: Easton 2020
Post by: Bassfisher on September 19, 2015, 12:41:00 PM
I'm about to pull the trigger on a mild reflex d bow.  It will be 51# @ 28".  I draw 29".  I'd like to use full length aluminum arrows and already have a large assortment of 175 grain broad heads, field tips, and blunts I'm using with my other setup.  I like the idea of the 2020s due to the durability of them with the thick walls.  Do you think they will be too stiff though?  I'd drop down to 2018s, but looks like they only come in 30.5" length instead of 32".  Of course I know I will still have to fine tune them, but just wondering if y'all think the 2020s will work or no way before I buy some shafts.  Thanks!

Where do you plan to find 2020's?  Easton stopped making the Legacy in 2020 last year. You may end up playing with 2117's since the 2018 is so short.  I really wish Easton would make it longer and I've told them so several times.

I've seen 2020s for sale recently, but I guess they are left overs if they are no longer being produced.  Thanks for that info.  I did not realize they were no longer being made.

Great arrow with plenty of strength and weight.  With the longer length and 175 gr. heads, you're on the right track.

The 2020 was my first hunting arrow. I even used them to hunt with while I was on the Dark Side. By adjusting length it would work over a lot of different weight bows. I dropped down in weight so gave a doz to St. Jude's auction. Bet if you put a "wanted" in the classifieds you could get some to try.

I think if you leave them long you will fine at a 29 inch draw and about 54 #s.The 175 grain heads will soften the spine a bit.

The 2020 is as good as it gets in an aluminum hunting arrow.I was shooting them out of a 62 # longbow at about 29.5 inches draw.I cut them 30.5 and had 125 grain heads.I was shooting a fatter dynaflight bowstring back then of 15 strands.

The newer high performance bow strings may help you as well if they are slightly stiff.

I think they were rated for 60-65 pound bows from what I remember.I think your pretty close with the details that you supplied on your draw length, poundage, head weight and leaving them long.
