Hey guys, I have an excellent impromptu elk hunting opportunity tomorrow. I am severely running out of time...
I have a set of grizzly broadheads that I would like to use, but might not have time to get them all prepared in time.
BUT....
I have a razor sharp set of Ace standards mounted right here that look like they want a shot at an elk.
Though maybe not ideal, what do you guys think of them for my elk hunt?
55# javaman helmsdeep, AD Trad lite/Ace Standard, 550 gr total/225 up front.
Do your part putting it in the right spot and it will do its share on any animal!Best of luck!
Why not?
Ace makes good heads.
Good luck on the elk!
Would not hesitate for a second to use the Ace heads.
Good head that has been around a long, long time. Will kill anything in North America if put in the right spot. Stop thinking and go hunting. Good luck and shoot straight.
Why are they not "ideal"? I bet the Bear Razor head has killed hundreds of elk and the ace is not vastly different? Use it and go hunting!
There is a reason they have been around since the 1930's...........
That's what I used this year...same set up but with a Hill style and wood arrows. Wish I had a shot at one so I could tell you the results.
Good luck. Love the Ace standards!
Aces shot into my broad head target penetrate farther then about anything.
Yep. You're good to go. Post pics of a big bull down!

As long as they are sharp that is what matters.
I'd use them without a second thought...great head!
Those heads will work just fine!
Go kill an elk!

No hesitation at all.....
The Ace Standard has a triple thickness of steel on the front inch of the blade, and that makes them tough as all get out. Get them sharp (I use an accusharp on mine after I am done with the file) and you can't go wrong. If you like a two-blade head, the Ace is a great one.
The 190 grain "super express" ...
Killed a bull at 30yrds w/ a Ace 160 standard. Bull went 50yrds w/ a heart shot.
