so my wife has this huge scary looking rosemary plant that just grew into this swamp creature looking thing and we know with winter upon us it will pretty much die..
I'm wondering if this stuff would work good as a cover scent by throwing a few branches of it in the back with my hunting clothes ,,,, I usually throw in dead leaves and pine branches with my clothes but the rosemary is stronger smelling so I'm wondering if it would spook deer or they'd ignore it or maybe get curious and come closer.
I wonder if it would be to much. We have a "monster" like you describe in our yard in San Diego. Thing won't die!! I know when I cut it the Oder is very strong. Also the smell may not be like any other in area which may make critters leary. JMO
I believe it matters if you are hunting sheep! lol
Is rosemary found in the wild where you live? If not, why cover your scent with something that will be out of place for the deer?
Also, can you really cover your scent? If I put an air freshened in my garbage, I still smell the garbage, but now I also smell pine...
I have found that Balkan Sobranie makes a good cover scent.
leave the rosemary for the roasts.
ha ha ok rosemary for the chicken
If it is unfamiliar to the deer in your area it is probably not a good cover scent.
I love me some rosemary butter on my steaks!
My cover scent usually consists of deet and sweat LOL!
hunting in 82 degree heat as i write this, hope that sweat and arm pit stink make a good cover scent its all i have right now i left the rosemary with the wife
