Title: zip this year but only 11 mo, 2 wks & 5 days..
Post by: joe ashton on September 13, 2015, 10:52:00 AM
Well,
I spent 12 days in the high rocky mountains with my Pronghorn long bow in hand and an elk tag in my pocket. I only saw the back side of one elk! Plus 2 bears (no license), 12 deer (again no license) and lots of grouse.  I did knock some feathers off of one grouse! I was camped alone on the edge of a creek at 9500ft with BIG VISTAS.  All in all a very successful hunt.

Sounds great Joe. I totally missed this elk season due to health issues, but hope to be back after them in 11 months and two days... give or take a day or 2.

I sure miss the mountains!

Sounds successful to me. An experience I would love.

I have elk hunted 3 times and never pulled the string back on an elk. They were all great experiences, but dang, I'm ready to shoot one on my next try!

Good luck next year!

Congrats on a great hunt.  I missed this year after hunting the last three out of four years with my son.  Wasn't a good time for my son and I have been having a lot  of trouble with my feet since this spring.

Hope I can get them back to the point where I can back pack again. Don't know if that is possible or not.

For you younger guys, seize the day I guess.  You never know when it is too late- until it is.
