Title: Tomorrow, Tomorrow
Post by: highlow on September 11, 2015, 07:29:00 AM
I love ya tomorrow, You're only a day away. Changed the lyrics slightly but essence the same. NJ's early deer starts tomorrow A.M. Been hotter than Hades here all week but with some much needed rain yesterday and last night, the temps have plummeted, so to speak. Should be very comfortable come morning. Been a long summer. Hope to have pics of the first kill of the year to post soon but not counting my chickens. Good luck to all you "Joysie" guys. And Bucky, did you or did you not?

Good luck.  Season in NC starts tomorrow too.  I'll be hunting at our cabin in NE PA (Susquehanna / Wayne county) after Thanksgiving. Harvest reports have been looking a lot better lately.

We start tomorrow here in GA, I can't wait... Got a cold front moving in tomorrow afternoon with high's in the 70's..
Looks like I might have to pass on the afternoon Dove hunt, or leave a little early to get back in my stand.

Good Luck to Everyone!

Like ddawg, tomorrow will be opening day for me as well. First year with trad gear! I'm plumb et up about it, keep telling myself to just remember to pick a spot. Also bringing a friend with me who has never hunted with a bow b4... Sure hope to put him on his first bow kill.

Good luck to all. Our expanded zone season opens in Maine as well, I probably won't sleep a wink thinking about wind direction and which stand to use

Heading out in the AM! Temps in the 60's with PM rain. My first ground hunt with my new Hunters Seat! I'm a treestand hunter 95% of the time but I want to do more ground hunting this year.

Well, tomorrow has become today. Survived babysitting two of my grandkids last night and was up bright and early. First day started out as do many - spooked one near my stand on the way in.

Stayed in until almost ten and saw a total of a dozen does and fawns. No bucks. Could have taken a shot at a lone fawn, sans spots, but passed. Also one bear which isn't a surprise at all.

Also dispelled a myth. One that concerns contaminating one's hunting area with one's call of nature. Emergency dismount from my tree stand about ten minutes after getting set up and could only make it about twenty-five yards away before the much needed stop. Had four of the aforementioned animals within ten yards, or less, of my deposit and showed absolutely no indication of anything suspicious. Had to be a fair amount of odoriferous fumes emanating from the site. Perhaps this is an anomaly but one was a very mature doe which I am sure knew her way around as she had two fawns with her. Your experience might be different.

Heading out again in the morning. Looks like it could be a very good year. Especially after the brutal (for us) winter here in NJ.

I knew what you meant on the first reply, Bucky.
Saw my first buck this morning but it was bedded about 70 yds. from my stand as I went in at first light. Definitely a rack but don't know how big. Just feels so good to get out. Anything from anyone else?
