Might have the opportunity to hunt some private land in the Mt Dutton Utah area over the next couple years pending tags, etc.
For those familiar with this area, what species are prevalent most popular to hunt there?
How's the hunting, etc.
Any info appreciated!
There are Mule deer, turkey, elk, antelope, bear, cougar. Elk is the game the unit is most famous for. Lots of huge bulls come off it if you can draw a tag. It's a good unit for spikes and cows and can be hunted yearly. Deer have been down but there is always a few good bucks come off there. Antelope is good with good bucks. Check out Steadmans "Most unusual antelope hunt" thread. It was on that unit. It's not a unit I hunt but it's only 40 mins away and would help you in anyway I could.
Twitch,
Thanks for the info. I'll def be reaching out to you when I get a better understanding of just where this private land falls. Only info on the land itself I have is that it is 15 miles away from Mt Dutton.
Thanks agin!
Nice area but I think they only give 2 non-resident elk and deer tags a year. Discounting cow and spike tags.
