Title: Trad friendly shop in Dallas area?
Post by: Fattony77 on September 10, 2015, 08:38:00 AM
I have a friend that lives in the Dallas area. I gave him one of my bows for a wedding gift earlier this year and he's needing to get some arrows made up. He is fairly new to Trad archery and needs someone knowledgeable in Trad to help him with tuning/shooting tips/arrow selection, etc. Do any of you know of a good place in the area that I can send him to, where he might get the proper guidance he needs?
Thanks in advance for your help.
-Tony

(P.S. I already directed him to Tradgang for all the advice and knowledge available here, but he needs some hands-on help.)

Fattony I have a good friend that works at Cinnamon Creek Archery in Roanoke not far from Cabela's in Ft Worth. He shoots some traditional and can help him out. His name is Kyle. There is one other guy that works there that shoots traditional but I don't remember what his name is.

Thanks very much, Tommy. I will let him know. I think he's pretty close to Roanoke, too (if memory serves).

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Kyle would be as good as any and better than most. Not a traditional shop per se but better than most. Great shooting range.I would recommend calling before you go to make sure Kyle is there.   :campfire:

Not familiar with the above mentioned,
But my answer would have been order from 3 Rivers, because this is wheel heaven down here!

He could PM me and I will help if I can, I have a pretty wide selection of test arrows

Tony you will want to have him call up there and see if Kyle is in. I talked with Kyle last night and he just got into Montrose for an Elk hunt. I didn't ask when he would be back but figure he will be there for a week anyways.

Thanks very much guys! I have let him know, and have confirmed that he did join us here. He also lives in Roanoke and is just down the road from the shop y'all recommended.

GANDOLF, I thank you very much for your generous offer to help him, and I certainly hope that he takes you up on the offer.

One of my Lost Nation Archery customers is Jeff Murray in Red Oak and he makes custom cedar arrows.  Red Oak is not exactly next door to Roanoke, but only one county over.
