Title: Need arrow advices for my new bow
Post by: Alfie on September 01, 2015, 02:47:00 PM
My new bow needs suitable arrows.
Havent decided what to launch from this bow yet so advices are welcome.

54" Falco Storm
55#@28"
Have a 28 ish  draw.
125gr points

Arrows are used on targets and stumps

Leaning to pine shafts, but aluminium are interesting, tried 2117 uncut  31" long and it works but it's not ideal.
Never tried carbon shafts.

The cabelas stalker extreme carbon arrows are .003 straightness and +/- 2 grains, you can get a 6 pack fletched with 4" feather for about $50... They are made by Easton and are great arrows, tough, accurate and cheap. They should fly pretty good for you with just standard inserts. For target you really don't want a heavy arrow, about 8 gpp is perfect because it gives you a nice flat trajectory for unmarked yardages. Those arrows are also great for hunting, I have used them for years. I suggest the 400 spine, fit the nock to the string and tune from there, should be pretty simple. Fyi they are basically the same arrow as the Beeman ICS bowhunters.

A suggestion, I would get someone to help you discover exactly what your draw length is. It will make figuring out the correct set-up for your bow much easier and the length to cut them as well.
