looking for a dedicated hunting bow, I have several target/ILF bows that shoot great and I can and do use them to hunt, just want a nice wood recurve or maybe a r/d longbow for just hunting. I don't have a huge budget but don't want a Sage either.
anyone shoot a Fedora Viking?
I shot a martin hunter and liked it but $600 is a little much for me right now
I'm really looking for a 58"-64" max amo bow
what's out there that's good? Thanks
Pay the $30 and look through the classifieds. You'll find a $600 bow for $400.

I guess what I was really asking is whats a good bang for the buck, opinions on different bows.
Try Maddog Archery. Mike makes bows that flat out perform at a very inexpensive price

Longbows I don't have as much experience with
Buy used from the classifieds or the big auction site. I generally pay 60% of new price or less depending on condition. You can buy a lot of bow for $300-350 if you buy used and are patient (a problem for me). Bows that I have bought in that price range include: predator classic (Pittsley), Brackenbury Shadow, Asbell bighorn one-piece, Martin dreamcatcher, great plains. I found a nice Dale Dye on this website for $400. If you want to spend less, consider the howatt/martin hunter. Good luck.
you should be able to find a martin hunter for
$300.00 to $400.00 used. they are a fine bow.
AL-TRAD bows are best buy for money ,Brooks bows very good he a sponsor here, check out White Wolf line of bows also,Big Jim MAKES VERY STABLE BOWS,
If you want a brand new custom bow on a wallet friendly budget I would contact New Wood Bows or Mad Dog Archery for sure.

Some dare good prices on bows
Mad Dog , best hunting bow for the money.
I am enjoying my 58" 50@28 bear super grizzly, 500$ bow I got from big jim @ ETAR for 275$.
Great shooter, nice looking, won't break to bank.
Where are you located in Kansas? I have several top bows you could try.
Eaglewing, Centaur, Morrison, Big Jim.
All are great bows. (my favorites are my Morrison Shawnee's!)
A used older Howatt Hunter would be a great bow.
Well I have traded a target bow for a john Holzrichter Custom Badger bow, it's a 3 piece take down recurve 60" AMO and 45@28. Real pretty bow, trading with a good friends son in law. Going to ship off my target rig tomorrow, talk about a last minute change before season lol
another vote for Maddog bows. great bows at the most reasonable price out there.
other than that, hit the classifieds and buy used.
edit - sorry I didn't see that you already decided. good luck!
If you are close to the KC area in Kansas you are welcome to come and shoot some of my bows to see what you like. I have a Wallace royal, widow, and a Sasquatch SS orderd that should be here anyday.
I still think you should become a contributing member. You will save the thirty dollars on your first purchase of a used bow. For whatever reason, some really nice bows don't sell unless they are marked way down. Maybe the economy, maybe saturation of the market.
