Cathy and I are getting ready for another Pennsylvania to Colorado adventure with our friends Mark (aka Straight-arrow) and his bride Donna. It will be similar to last years trip with some different stopping points along the way. We will both be trying to tag a nice mule deer and possibly an elk for Mark if they happen to be on the property.
We hope to take you along on our "Vacation / Hunt", snapping some photos and videos along the way. Our side trip with be down through Mesa Verde this year to the cliff dwellings. Hopefully everything will go as planned.
We fly out Wednesday afternoon, so I should be able to get the thread started soon after.
Here's a quick video I threw together.....hoping to go a little farther this year than just pictures.

Hey Bill....that's a 62" tip that I picked up last spring. Ebony 19" riser with smokey myrtle wood limbs. A great shooter and smooth easy on the shoulders.

Mesa Verde will make you amazed. It is odd to think they left that all behind and moved out. We find stuff back in odd places that few others see. There are some bad ass places to get to that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up.

Hey MAP
Any suggestions from folks out there regarding Mesa Verde would be well received. The problem on these vacation / hunts is that we only have so much time. We will have a good solid day to see Mesa Verde, which makes it tough. I was looking to see the Balcony area but again it's our first time so any thing you folks can suggestions we'd appreciate.

What about the frisbee video Tim?! :clapper: I see your back to split and a recurve. It's going to be weird this year in KS to have only one Silvertip in camp.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Tim: Ranger talks on the middens is great for us. It shows how the diet changed after they had depleted one prey species [they ate a lot of rodents. I have heard it said that the native people here changed from atlatls to bows when they could no longer kill enough little stuff to survive. The other thing is to try and hear a ranger talk on the kivas. Various groups from down my way trek up there to renew them on a regular basis. The pueblo culture is still alive.

Very cool MAP. We visited MOAB last year and was just blown away by the beauty of the whole area. That is one area we will be going back to in the future. A very different way of life compared to here in PA. We've been fortunate to see quite a few states throughout the west and it never gets old, so many places to see.
