Title: Paper Tuning Question
Post by: Ceb on August 28, 2015, 02:44:00 PM
I know, here we go again. But can someone explain how I can show nock high at 3-6 feet from the bales, but at 10yds and out as far as 50yds I get bullet holes? I've adjusted nock point up and down and normally shoot at 1/2in above square, I can not get rid of nock high up close, but by the time i get to 10yds I get perfect holes and even as far as 50yds I can see no problem.

Heres how it was explained to me.

Until the arrow is about 12 to 15 ft from the bow it is still in paradox so the tears you get can be false reading when closer.

I could never get results with paper tuning so I just use bare shaft tuning.

I think that by the time your arrow is reaching 10 yards and beyond, that the fletching is working to level out your arrow. Where at 3-6 feet your fletching hasn't straightened out the arrow yet.

Bare shafting and broadhead tuning for me.  Actually did it this morning and got my bow shooting broadhead, target point and bareshaft together out to 35 yds.

Good to go.
