Looking for a good starting point for a sting nock. Who has set one up before?
If you're shooting split finger a good starting point would be about 3/8" to 1/2" if shooting 3 under about 9/16" to 3/4" Brace height from 7 3/4" to 8 1/2" My 70 Super-K prefers 8 1/4" with a 5/8" nocking point. I shoot 3 under. Hope this helps.
Rob..
like where to start?
Depends if split or 3 under. To be safe, i would just start around 3/4". The best way for me to start is with a bare shaft, even if it is out of tune spine wise, it will still tell you the truth about nock high or low, at least in my findings.
Sorry. I shoot 3 under.
Thanks, KY Rob and Daniel B
honestly, there is not a better way, in my opinion, than to shoot a bare shaft. It will tell you exactly what you need to do. The trick is, start around 3/4" so you know you have to go down.
The nock will befin to go down and then raise up again. When it flies perfectly straight, you are there.
I like my bareshafts to hit nock high...I will always err on the high side when it comes to nocking point
