for anyone whos had both please tell which one you liked or like best and why..have a chance to trade for either one and wont get a chance to handle either until trade..Caribow is 58 in. 47@28 and Mag is 56 in. 55@28 and my draw is 28 1/2-28 3/4 in.Weight is not a issue at 55# for Mag either.
Flip a coin!
My vote is for the Caribow. I tried one and it was a great little longbow. Very very quick, very quiet. That 47#er at your DL should be a rocket with 10gpp.
I knew someone would say flip a coin:)
I have a 55# @28" Wolverine and highly recommend any of the Cari-bow line. I have three, Featherhorn, a Tundra Wolf (unfortunately damaged it beyond repair) and a Wolverine.
I have only shot the regular Thinderstick so I am no help here, but if I am not mistaken there is a solid price difference between the two.. So that might be something to consider.
I've never SHOT a Caribow but in a straight up trade you probably have more value in the Caribow in case you would ever want to resell it. The Caribow will most likely be more polished and finished. It's been my experience that Jim's bows, while very well made, tend to lean towards the more plain side. A great no nonsense hunting bow. I would also think the extra 2" AMO is better for your draw length.
Having said that, I currently own a TS Mag, love the grip, so I personally would pick the Mag.

The only thing I can tell you is "Flip A coin". Seriously though, they're both awesome and while for sure you're gonna find variations in each bow if you shot them together but sight unseen, they're both high quality sticks. Id choose based on looks in your situation. :dunno:
Cannot go wrong with a Caribow .. I have had three and all are great bows. The LB's are hard hitting and I have had LOTS of bows just not the Thunderstick
going to try and meet the guy wanting to trade, unfortunately we are about 160 miles from each other..going to try to find somewhere to meet halfway..that way get to hold both bows and see how they feel..like the looks of all the Caribows Ive seen just never shot one.. I think I shot a Thunderstick at Cloverdale 7-8 yrs ago but dont remember much about it.
I am a recurve guy but the one longbow I would love to own is the caribow Wolverine my buddy had what a bow alas he sold it back to the guy he bought it from. Sure would have loved to own that bow. Widow

Never shot a thunderstick, but I LOVE my Caribow! I will for sure add at least one or two more to the stable over time.
Well the guy backed out of the trade after making me wait 5 days to go meet him, go figure.
