I live in south central Pa. I haven't seen much of an acorn crop as of yet. Is anyone else seeing any yet?
We have quite a few up here in Michigan for the 2nd year in a row
Starting to drop here in NW Jersey. Spotty so far, but haven't been out and about for a few weeks. Hopefully it has increased.
They have been bouncing on the deck for over a week.
NW PA here...not much to speak of, a few here and there but not raining down in my area as of right now.
Trees are drooping with them here.
Been falling on my pole barn roof for a couple weeks..
Been dropping for couple weeks in Mn
Our trad club had a 3D shoot this past weekend. As we walked the wooded course I saw many acorns on the ground. Many are already falling here. No sure why so soon, but nicely formed mature acorns are on the ground in spots.
Massive crop here in MO. Still green for now. The hickories are already starting to fall though.
massive crop, white oak here in southern nj
2nd year in a row in Indiana for a large acorn crop also. I had a hard time pin pointing deer last year due to such a large crop. In fact they were so plentiful here the deer never hit te wasted soybeans until February!
The acorns in my yard just started dropping this week. Tons of them!
You guys are giving me some hope. The trees locally aren't producing well at all but I hunt quite a few different area a few hours away. Hopefully they'll be producing.
The past 2 years here in NE Ohio had been big for acorns, but haven't heard any bouncing off my roof or deck yet now that you guys mention it... Will look this evening, although the squirrels have been cutting on a couple Shagbark hickories in the yard since August 4th, but they are always the first to but cut on... I notice them while mowing the grass. Have over a dozen oak (red and white) and hickories (all three species - Pignut, Shag and Shellbark) in the yard and all the hickories limbs are low heavy hanging with nuts. Also have 2 black walnut trees in the yard and both those loaded now with nuts... My house was cut out and built in the middle of a hardwoods, and unfortunately I spend a lot of vacation time in the fall cleaning up nut hulls when I could be hunting... :)
Long Island has a good crop this year
Falling in north west CT
Since it's been a couple weeks, just wanted to follow up and although the past couple years have had a bumper crop of acorns from the oaks in my yard, but this year very few acorns produced... This is in NE Ohio...
Its going to be a different this year. We had a frost that killed the leaves on the oaks this spring at the hunting camp. When the leaves regrew it doesn't look like the trees are going to produce acorns. It didn't hit all the areas but you have one section where the oaks have poor leave cover and others where they are more normal. Of coarse our camp is right in the middle of a poor section. It looks like even the squirrels have migrated to better pickens.
Yep just now getting up and running here in MS.
All of my white oaks are barren this year in SW VA. I kind of expected it though after last year's bumper crop.
Pin oaks started dropping last week here in north Alabama. Post oaks will come next, then white and red
None here yet, bit early for them.
Loaded in Schuylkill co
Would love to find the only oak dropping, as opposed to finding dozens dropping.
