I hope someone with a better memory that mine will chime in on this. I am thinking that only the curved limb bed Big Horn bows are Asbell ere bows. The ones with the straight limb beds are after he sold the company. He may have been still hanging around as a consultant but I think he had already sold the company and it was under new ownership when the bows began to have flat or straight limb beds. Like I said someone with a better memory than me please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
If my memory serves right . I bought a Big Horn in 1988 and I bought extra limbs for it in the end of 88 or the beginning of 89 not sure which . Fred told me then that he changing the limb bed to straight . So yes he did do straight limb beds before he sold.

X2 it is true, they were not really fast and the KOM era were much better, IMHO
Correct. I visited the shop in Oct 88 and they showed me the new flat bed limbs they were working on. My bow delivered in spring 89 had the curved limb beds. It was not a performance improvement but one to ease manufacturing.
Ordered mine early March 88, arrived late October 88 with curved limb beds... I dealt exclusively with Glenn during those months, and I think at that time Asbell was on his way out...
Although I pretty much retired mine, (custom 52" TD) it was and still is a great bow.... Remember during one stretch of time, killed 7 deer with shots (without misses in between)...
yea.. mine is a asbell bow and has flat limb beds.. bought it new in 88 or 89 I believe, I killed a lot of critters with it, and made some memorable shots... 62" 65@28 later reduced to 60@28, its currently retired
