I am wondering for those of you have youngsters that shoot or for those of you who mentor children who shoot between 25 and 40 pounds of draw, what are their typical draw lengths? If you could just respond with the weight they shoot and the draw length I would greatly appreciate it.
#10-20 @ 20" or so.
35# 25-26"draw
Thanks guys.
I don't know a good answer--it's all over the place. I help coach a NASP team, and the kids vary in size from little bitty to well over 6' tall. The Genesis bow is great for that application--although it looks like a compound, for all practical purposes it shoots like a recurve.
Most adults give kids bows that are too heavy pull for good shooting. That's why we have a trade in program and allow 75% of the original price of the trade in bow as credit on the new bow. That way, the kids can use a lighter weight bow to learn on, and then move up in weight when they are ready, and it won't cost a fortune to do that.
Thank you all for the replies. What I am doing is making up sets of traditional shafts to give away. I am just trying to get an idea of what lengths to make what spine shaft.
