Did a search, not a lot of info. Looking for opinions from those that own one or shot them.
Thanks
Been seeing quite a few popping up for sale.
I just recently traded for a one-piece Silvertip longbow a couple of weeks ago.It has nice mass weight for a one-piece longbow,I'm guessing from the dymondwood riser. It feels heavier then my other one-piece longbows of similar style. It looks to be cut to center, easy to tune arrows to it.Nice R/D,nice narrow tips, draws smoothly and casts a good arrow. The grip feels great to me,mine is checkered with nice red cedar veneers on limbs. It's a great looking and shooting long bow in my opinion!
...
Had several of the recurves and they are ace of course. Shot last year at a shoot with a fella who had a 3pc LB, it was very fast and very quiet. Cant see how you'd go wrong.
Thanks, anymore?
Its a great bow..I have a 3 piece TD..very smooth and comfortable to shoot. Its got excellent cast and it was very easy to setup.
I have shot Silvertip recurves for years and recently got a 3 piece longbow. It is quickly becoming the favorite. Great grip, quick, quiet and with the durability of longbow limbs. Two deer and a black bear have all fallen to it.

I had a 1 pc and have a 3 pc Dave does outstanding work!
I have had em all, 1 pc, 2 pc takedown, and 3 piecers..all quick, quiet, performers. Great Craftsmanship also.
Currently have a 1 pc and a 3 pc TD, they are my go-to's.
I have 3 of them. 2 T/D and a one piece. Completely different bows IMO. The 3 piece have more mass and more of a narrow recurve type grip. That being said, you cant go wrong either way. The one piece is so slim and light it is a pleasure to carry. I had it done with bamboo cores and it slings an arrow, but I prefer the takedowns for the grip and the ability to pack when traveling.
Thanks, I need to find one. Can't bring myself to wait a year on a new one. What brace you guys running? I draw right at 30 so I'm assuming a 62" prolly won't work, or will it?
Here's my new Schafer Silvertip longbow I received this past Friday.
RH 66" one piece
Rosewood Dymondwood handle
Bamboo limb core stained Rosewood
Eastern Diamondback skins on the back
Koa Venners on the belly.
Elk Antler tips
Total Price including shipping, handling and federal excise tax: $1405.00, and a 15 month wait.
This bow is a beautiful bow with superb workmanship, the fit and finish is top notch. I have shot maybe 100 + arrows through it over the weekend, and maybe I need a little more time to evaluate the bow, but so far, it's a step down from my Toelke whip, Black Widow, or my Fox Triple Crown, not to mention my JD Berry's.

Anything Silvertip is great imho
I have 2.
One is a 62" 3 pic 53#@29". Checkered grip. It is spectacular in every way. Not the fastest, but surely one of the smoothest and dead in the hand longbows I've shot.
The second is a 66" 2 pc (yes 2 pc.). It is a hinge takedown. David thinks he only made a couple dozen or so of these....and also believes he only made 2 LH. It is 52#@28". Dream to shoot in every way.
I think the 'Tip longbows are a sleeper bow, that a few will take the chance on, but nearly all will be pleased.
My 3 piece is a 62 inch and I draw just under 30. It is a great shooting bow. So much so I had some 51# @ 28 limbs made and some 60# @ 28 limbs coming. I will have 51, 55 & 60.

I had a 62 inch one piece...it was a great bow...only sold it because the original owner wanted it back...Dave only made a few in that length

I loved my 64" 54@29. Some Deer didn't care for it....

What others have said... Has become my go to bow (3 pc t/d 62" 56#@28). Quick, silent, and has great manners!! I really like the grip. Their 1 piece was my first trad bow I purchased in 2004 at the Kalamazoo trad show, shot a buck and doe the following fall. I've been sold ever since!
Thanks everyone, I have one coming. :campfire:
We need details! I have a 66" one piece and and it was my favorite bow until some surgery's forced me own in poundage. I have shot the 64" and 66" 3 piece takedown and I Really liked the 64" at my 30" draw
Nothing fancy, but it's nice. bought it here from modr. Pics still here on His ad. 62" 52@28.
Got it! Grip feels so GOOD! Might get to play some with it this weekend.
