Well, it is almost done, 58" with long limbs and 14" riser. Gabon Ebony riser with a stripe, striped Makassar ebony limbs, eland tips and up the riser, checkered grip and a mastodon ivory scrimshaw medallion with a mountain lion on it. Here are some in progress pics. Beth said the limbs turned out fantastic. Dave is doing the scrimshaw and inlaying it in the riser early next week. Cannot wait for my new baby.

Not sure which set of vaneers Beth chose, I told her which ever she thinks looks the best
I'm sure it's going to look amazing Danny! Congrats :notworthy:
Probably gonna need some strings Allen, will have to see if the ones I have from you for my other 58" will work or not.
Dave builds an awesome bow - Danny, is it just the angle of the picture, or is there something going on with the finish on the bottom of the riser?
Troy,
The riser is not finished completely yet in the picture, it is a progress pic, Dave does the final finish once he has the limbs completed and of course he has to checker it and put the eland horn up the sight window and inlay the scrimshaw.
That's going to be a beauty.
:bigsmyl:
Very nice.

Ouch Charlie.
Charlie, no one but me will wind up with it. All the bows on my rack are there to stay. This will be my last custom bow. Will have 4 Schafer recurves, the Huntsman recurve and the Cari-bow Silver Fox longbow. Will be retiring in a bit over a year and will shoot and hunt with them all until I can no longer draw a bow.

Mike, I can honestly say this is my last custom bow order. My pay will not be what it is now when I retire and any spare funds will be put aside for hunts.
Thank you all for looking and I will certainly post finished pictures of the bow.

Looks great Danny!
That's beautiful.
Danny, that is a very nice wood combination and should make for a bow with nice physical weight which I believe aids in smooth shooting. I believe it will be a shooter for sure! I hope you have many years of shooting enjoyment.
Might just be my favorite looking recurve I've seen. Love Macassar and the grip checkering really makes it classy. You Sir have great taste.
Dang Danny, Thats Beautiful!
Denny
Danny,
You sure have a looker on your hands! However, you have a bunch of great looking bows, so this is just par for the course. Congrats!!!
:notworthy: :clapper:
Wow :scared: That's a true work of art, absolutely beautiful.
Very nice looking bow. Love the dark woods in riser.
Nice looking bow I bet it will shoot as good as it looks. Josh
dang it, that's probably the best looking bow ive seen ... congrats....
Very nice, Danny!
Very nice danny!! I see it has the rocket 2 written on it ...can you explain?
I have No 1 coming :bigsmyl:
I can't wait t o see it! Keith.
Danny of the few Tips I have :goldtooth: my Gabon riser one is the best shooter and the quietest. For sure a heavy mass helps a lot to achive accuracy.
Wow Danny that's incredible. Now for the tough part. Which bow heads out with you to the woods? :dunno:
Beautiful!
Very nice. I've never seen a bow with so much Gaboon. I love the Macassar as well. The eland horn is a unique touch as well.
Well Jarrod. It comes from my good friend Keith Zimmerman,. When we started talking to Dave about this bow and his we wanted the 14" riser and the long limbs. Dave stated "That should be a rocket" Hence the name "The Rocket" Keith is #1 and I am #2. Cannot wait to get my hands on her and run her through the loops. Far as I know this and Keith's bow are the very first two that Dave built with the 14" riser and long limbs, all the other 14" riser bows have the short limbs which makes them 56" bows, and there are not many of those. These are 58" with the long limbs.
That is sweet, Danny!
Bisch
Nice!
Your bow is the first with Eland Horn too. Gonna be a long wait for mine. :campfire: :campfire:
Stunning bow Danny!! I'm at a loss for more words!! :notworthy:
Yeah, forgot about that Keith and thanks to you that we have the Eland for our bows. Not too long my friend if he is working on it now.
Wow is all I've got. That is one truly gorgeous bow. Congrats.
That's an awesome bow Danny! Love the simple elegance of it!!!
I have never had a problem or second thought on taking a good looking bow to the field but that one I would second guess myself for sure. Beauty!
Oh, she will be hunted Tom, going to Texas with me in November. I hunt with all of my bows and they are all lookers.
Danny you did good that is a my kind of woods right there and love the shorter riser. Widow
Beautiful! Love the grip especially.
Danny, the more I look at that bow the more I like it. I think it gives Love Potion #9 a run for its money.
that's gotta be the best looking recurve I've seen. Awesome. Congrats and good hunting.
Nice looking bow Danny! :clapper:
Izzy, yes, it does give "Love Potion #9" a run for the money and I know it will shoot just as well.
Thanks for the comments all, I wanted something elegant and that is what Dave built. "Pure Elegance" that is what I will call her.
Beautiful !
It definitely ranks as the prettiest bow I've ever seen. The workmanship is incredible. Please let us know how she shoots.
Elegant without being gaudy. I think there's a fine line there (I've seen some bows where it's gone over the top). Yours is flat on the money. I think the Charcoal/Black in the handle with just the right accents holds it all together in that respect.
Danny that is the second best looking bow I have seen! The nicest one I have seen also belongs to you! :biglaugh:
Wow! absolutely stunning Danny!! You and Keith have quite a stable of thoroughbreds! Best of luck with her!!!!
was it this one Bjorn? :bigsmyl:
