I like seeing other people's gear list , please put down you newest pack list for a 7-10 day backpack hunt for elk or whatever it is your hunting. Also what bow-n-arrow set-up you will be using , I still haven't got mine together for this year. Will start sorting through gear and see what I can live without this year as to keep weight down. Soon as mine is completed I will post it up.....
One thing I'm doing different is going with tarp and bivy instead of tent...

Here's my list for September elk. I'm usually shooting around 65#, with 650-grain arrow and single-bevel broadhead. I bivy hunt, so I carry all my stuff all the time; thus, it has to be very compact and light. I'm also switching to a tarp and bivy.
As you organize your pack, if you take no other advice, get a kitchen scale and weigh EVERYTHING.

The only thing to add here is another 4 lbs for more food, since this list is calculated for 4-days worth.
Don't forget the Motrin. Another good thing to do is keep some asprin on ya in case of a heart attack .
I sustained a pretty good injury in the field several years ago and something I always take with me now is half a dozen "strong" pain killers. If you or a friend break a leg the meds would help manage the pain for a day or two until help arrives. Along with that I have a few antibiotics, again enough to start the regiment until you get to a doctor.
Just a thought......
Several years ago I was up in the mountains on a Bear hunt and ended up with a severe tooth abscess , not fun by the time we hit an ER the infection had went down my neck. So I do carry meds as part of my gear now , good thing to bring up..
,,,Sam,,,
I'm glad you mentioned that Tim. Just put some in my pack. I usually have some but had forgot to put some in the gear list.
Here's a video of what's in my pack. Light on food but there are 3 other guys and we split the food load. One of the group mates is bringing the water filter and another is packing the stove

looks like some pretty well planed out kits. All I would add is some solid thread and needles. or Para cord and a bit bigger needles.
Pile of stuff in the basement! Bow is in my signature and shooting 580gr total arrow weight with 200gr screw-in Cutthroat's.
2 things I never forget, lip balm and rolaids. Rolaids are great for settling your stomach at altitude. The weather is so much dryer out there, lip balm is the first thing in my pack.
Hope to get my pack started this week , going to get me a scale and see how much weight I can get rid of. Need to get my maps ordered and get everything in order. Nothing like waiting til the last few weeks to get it going , been hiking with 60# pack in this nice Tx. Weather. Also going to order a Tenkara outfit for some fresh fish meals.....
,,,Sam,,,
My list is always changing and I haven't finalized this year's gear yet. I thought about getting a Tenkara outfit a few years back but instead I just put some tippit and some bead head nymphs in a sandwich baggie. When I wanted a few fresh trout I took my nock out of my carbon arrow, put the thick end of the line inside the shafts and reinserted the nock. Tied on a fly and dropped it over some overhanging rocks and a few minutes later had a stream-side lunch fit for a king. No extra cost, weight or pack space needed.
My tenkara is so light I can't help but bring it...it will ride in my back quiver with arrows. :D
Here you there, I keep a cabelas cgr fiberglass rod in my back when in certain areas.
To add to too these, my buddy and I carry one cotton sheet a peice, which is used to lay meat, quarters on and to cover, until they are hung. Keeps them clean, gives us a 'cleaning station' in between cutting and hanging.
Everything should serve more than one purpose if possible
My list so far........

A friend of mine used always make the last item on his list "the list". This way he had reminder to carry the list along so he could make notes on what did not work as desired and to add stuff he thought of as a result of the trip events.

Here is my 3-days bivy pack. I could get 5-days of food in my Badlands 2800 pack, but I usually only do 3 day hunts and then resupply.
Sam, Last year Robtattoo had a thread devoted to a packlist for a back country Elk hunt, and then he followed up with a packlist revision thread after he got back. I'm sure you have it mostly covered by now but if you want to read some more on TG there are several pages of these threads.

Well my pack is 51# , I'm sure I could leave out some stuff but I'm happy with where I'm at with my gear. Thanks for all the info and good luck everyone on your hunts...
