Anyone know who sells the huge (4' X 4') cube-shaped arrow backstops that look like gigantic beige-colored marshmallows? Jimmy Blackmon uses them for his demo videos on Y*****e but I've seen them in a other places as well. They look like the perfect long-lasting backstop, just not sure who the manufacturer is, cost, or where to get them.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
Blob targets ?
Not sure about 4x4, but I have one that is maybe 36" square (x 16" thick ?) called a Big Butt.
It looks like they stuck a heavy plastic bag in a box then filled it with expanding foam and tied it shut. I have yet to put an arrow into it ( just got it) but I have seen and shot into smaller versions of the same thing and they work great, for not a lot of money. They may, however, be out of business now, not sure.

Contact Pappy at Twin Oaks. He has a bunch of them and usually the guys selling them is at the Tenn. Classic.
I checked out the blob website, the foam looks very similar except the 'cubes' I'm thinking of seem about as deep (thick) as they are wide. They may be closer to 3'X3' than 4'X4'.
Blackmon's Y*****e video demoing the Verna longbow shows them well at the 2:00 mark (sorry, can't seem to move the link here). Was just wondering if these cubes are available in the northeast...wouldn't want to have one shipped all the way from down south, it would probably cost a small fortune just for shipping.
Ok, did some more checking and the 'marshmallow' I was looking for is the blob target, apparently they can come is many different dimensions (up to around 40" or so). They don't have dealers in the northeast, though. Too bad, I bet they could sell a bunch of them up here.
Their prices include shipping to the lower 48 states. No too bad for a target that holds up as well as they do. My 20" X 20" is still going strong after a year and a half.

Last time I looked, the big Blobs were $130, IF you picked it up yourself in North Georgia, and the website said they could be $375 if shipped.
The big ones weigh 200 pounds !

I bought one last year, i wish I would have went with a rhinehart target. Initially it was unbelievably hard to get the arrows out, which I thought was good, but when the arrows got easier to pull, it started deteriorating quickly. The center of mine is gone at least 8" deep.
I think Florida Lime is correct, based on what I found out for 'blob info' they are reasonably affordable...IF you pick them up at the dealer or facility. Shipping will cost a bundle due to the heavy weight/bulk.
I know of a club here that has one as an outside practice bale for years (never knew what it was called or who made it). The center has been shot out as you might imagine but the 'cube' shape is intact and it's still in use for practice warm-ups. They're pretty tough targets.
Thanks for the feedback/comments, maybe someday the blob will invade the northeast.
The larger 40"X 36" Blob according to the website is $130 but has to be picked up in Georgia. The smaller sizes like the 20" X20" which weighs around 75 pounds includes shipping for $135.
The "blob" target that Jimmy Blackmon is shooting at is probably the ones at Twin Oaks. I have the same ones but got mine many years ago from the guys selling them at a CTA shoot near Hickory NC. I gave the guy 3 osage seedlings for the first one. The second one I got I think I paid $35 at a later shoot at hickory.
I use it for all types of heads. I even test stone and hafted trade points and it works great. I have actually shoot through both of the "blobs" I have but still use the outsides to shoot at and test arrows with hafted points.
I had the same luck with mine as Daniel, fell apart.
I probably put 10,000 arrows into mine before I shot through it, many with broadheads.
