Title: Arrow Question?
Post by: 9 Shocks on August 04, 2015, 01:39:00 PM
Just got around to starting the tuning process on my new toelke whip.

Its 58"s and 46@27.  I draw almost 27" maybe a hair less.

Brace height at 7"

Anyways.  I have some 1535's full length with 50 grain inserts installed that I plan on shooting out of the bow. finished length and point weight to be determined.

Does anyone else shoot a similar set up?

I am going to bareshaft tune my arrows and everything.  Just looking for options as far as similar set ups and what works for everyone.

I have so many arrow materials and shafts laying around to try.  Just seeing what has worked.

Thanks

You have not actually started the tuning process until you shoot some arrows...the bareshafting process will tell you what works...sometimes I hit it right away, sometimes I need to try quite a few options...for me the string, the variable so many people leave out when telling us what they are shooting, is the biggest single factor in determining dynamic spine

Ok.  Full length bare shafts with 200 grains up front are flying tail left but hitting where im looking.  Going to fletch up a few and see where they impact.

I shoot a 45# at 26 maddog Prairie Predator with 600 gold tips cut to 28" with 100gr. insert and 150gr. head. The 600 is the same as 15/35

scratch that...if you're including 50gr insert weight, try 125gr points. You might want to even try 100gr points.
