The mail man came today, I should have given him a hug and a tip
First off, Big Jim is an artist. This bow is so beyond words beautiful. It is a 56" #52@28 t/d thunderchild. It has B&W Ebony veneers on back and belly as well as well as gemsbuck tips and overlays.
Enjoy the eye candy.
I would have some strung profile pics to upload as well, but the bow was a little warn when i got it so i figured I would give it a few hours to cool down before I strung her. I don't know if that will matter, but i ain't chancing it on this jewel!

Sweet and just in time to get to know her before season starts.
That's a beauty for sure. Does the T/D grip feel better than your other one?
you're right, bud!
now the fun part of picking out the arrows for her. Going to try for a 500 grain total weight with 250 grains up front. Should be great FOC and a perfect weight for me!

YES! It is much thicker.
Daniel,
Your thunder child and my buffalo could be twins. What did you choose for your riser woods.
Tim
Sweet!!!!
Beautiful bow. I think you will be pleased with how nice it shoots for a shorter bow.
It may come out a tad over 500, but mfx classic 400 or easton traditional 400 shafts with a 75 grain brass insert and simmons tigershark or 175 vpa broadheads will get you pretty close depending on your drawlength. That is what I use, but I draw around 29.5" with a 50# @ 28" thunderchild. Might want to start with your arrows 31" and work your way down. Good luck.
Very beautiful! You are right about BigJim being an artist. Your really gonna like it. Black and white ebony is my favorite wood. Let us know how it shoots.
Pdk' is right on the money with the arrows. I had a lefty B&W ebony 2pc just like that 51@28 and regret letting it go. Great bows.
I am going to try some high FOC arrows. Just ordered some victory HV .350's and am going to shoot 250 grain heads on them. I always bare shaft tune. It's the only thing that has ever worked for me.
Believe it or not, I bought it used, though you can't tell that it has been used! I searched the bow and only found 1 sign of use, literally! Whoever had it, obviously didn't like it at all. Lol.
I am going to make up a string and just shoot the arrows I have until the new ones get in. I also have a Kanati pro angle quiver that is getting built for the bow and be shipped to me this week sometime, hopefully.
This is the newest/nicest bow I have ever owned. Can't wait to get to know it better.
Does anyone know how to tell the year the bow was made by big Kim's serial number?
Very nice! A thunderchild will be my next bow purchase.
Sweet bow man! Can't wait to shoot it :)
Nice pics. of the limbs .... what about the riser?
Daniel, thats the same arrow setup that have for my dryad. I also have 100gr insert behind the 2blade 250gr vpa.
Sweet looking bow !!!!

I don't know why, but I always have to shoot a stiffer arrow than the next guy. I am really wanting around a 500 grain arrow. I would love it if the full length shaft would work out! But I doubt it will!
I will post some more pics tomorrow. Strung up the bow, but did not have time to shoot it. Will give some full profile pics tomorrow.
Beautiful!!!
Can't wait to shoot it D... Congrats!!!
Well, I finally got around to shooting her today. WOW! Shooting it, you would assume it was a much longer bow. Points REALLY well, I absolutely love the design!!
I have not gotten my new arrows in just yet, so I can't say it's shooting up to my standards yet, but it will be shortly!
As promised, I have some pics for you fellas.
Please forgive the poor quality camera they were took on. I took them on my phone is a piece of pooh!

The ONLY blemish i found on the whole bow, literally. This is the bottom limb tip.

It came with 2 silencers on it. I still haven't made a string for it yet. But the bcy X will eliminate the need for 2 silencers, for sure. But i'm not sure this bow needs 2 anyways..

I do not believe this bow has/was shot much before I got it.
Man that looks awesome. I bet youll get some blood on it this fall.
Nice bow Daniel.
Yeah, I have been texting Jim about the bow. It had a little squeak or click in it when i drew it back and he said that it needed some wax. Put some wax on it and it worked perfectly! No squeak.
In regard to Jim's comments about the speed in the other post, I would have to agree, and disagree. I had the honor and privilege of meeting him at a shoot in Mississippi. I shot one of his bows there and he said "they're decent performers".
With my untrained eye, this longbow is faster than my black widow. The only reason I say that is because of the trajectory with a 10gpp arrow at around 30 yards. I shot it several times today with a closely, but not perfect, tuned arrow and it just doesn't "fall out" like the widow(9.5 gpp) arrow does. I know that is subjective, but it is my findings.
Great Bow Daniel. I have to agree with everything you said about the bow.
That is a beautiful bow! Your excitement is contagious!
Nice bow Daniel. It looks great.
Billy
Beautiful Bow Daniel, CONGRATS!! Good Luck with it this season ...
Beautiful bow Brother, enjoy it and hopefully it has the mojo.
TJ,
i need some kind of mojo. lol. I had a less than stellar year last year. Hoping lady luck is on my side this year.

A litle video of me shooting it this evening. Hope you enjoy it. I was filming it to check arrow flight, etc, but it turned into a fun evening of shooting.
You've got 'em flying like darts Dan. Nice job of tuning. My TC is in the finishing stages now. I can hardly wait.
Thanks for the vid. Man I need to get some BH arrows set up and do dome shooting!
Daniel how do you like your stick tite glove? I'm currently shooting a big shot but when I sweat up,it feels loose also I feel that the stalls are a little short for a deep hook.
Oh I wish I wouldn't have thrown out The back end of my last 3 d target I never thought about hanging it like that good idea!
Tim
Nice video. She sure looks like she shoot good. Very beautiful bow.
Tim,
lol. I did that just because I think 3d targets have gotten outrageous! I couldn't imagine paying these prices for a target that wont last a year with my usual shooting.
I love my stick tite glove. If i were you, I would get the one without the nylon on it, but that is just my findings. At first I loved it(the nylon), but something happened to it and it stopped giving me as smooth of a release, so i cut the nylon off and haven't looked back.
Mike,
her and I are getting along just fine. I think i'm going to do some longer range shooting this evening. I'm really just playing around with the camera to practice editing and such. The bugs in the video yesterday were way too loud! lol, but I still had a blast! The last location i shot from was 20 yards and you can see that she is zipping them in there!
Thanks for posting the vid Dan! Beautiful bow, I hope to own one someday. Looks like it performs as good as it looks.
Wayne,
i think you will love it! Everyday i shoot it, and everyday I am liking it more and more. It is just flat out AWESOME in my opinion. Thinking about trying to go chase a hog with it this weekend.
With all the luck Corey is having here lately, i'm not sure there will be any left by the time I get to go..
