Title: Interesting game camera accessory maybe
Post by: lt-m-grow on July 30, 2015, 10:51:00 AM
First I am not selling these and have no affiliation with the company, just sharing a tip with the gang here...

And regarding the traditional hunting rules here, I am assuming since game camera conversation is ok, this is too.  Ok enough of the disclaimer.

I just picked this up and it works like a charm on my android phone.

You do need a phone that supports OTG (on the go) technology, but most modern phones do.  Google your phone and OTG support to find out.

Anyway, I intend to use it for looking at pics on SD cards in the field with my phone.  I have tested it out and it works slick.  It also allows you to connect your phone to the computer, but that isn’t that interesting or at least not why I wanted it.  It also can function as added memory for your phone as you can access and store anything on the SD card you plug into it.  But again, I don’t care so much for that.

I do use an app called ES File Explorer to access the card, but I am not sure that is even necessary.  I just use that application for other things so I used it for this.

I accidentally ran across this, bought it to try it out because it was cheap, so now sharing.

That is it.  Enjoy.

Bisch,

They do make them for iPhone, although they look really cheap and are definitely chinese made. I've been debating trying one.

Apple makes a fully supported ipad version of this, but nothing for the Iphone yet.

The problem (or really not the problem but) is I don't want to carry a tablet  to my tree.

On my night hunts, I generally wander by a game camera and swap the card with the fresh one then head to my tree stand.  I was looking for something that I could look at the card while in the tree.  I always have my phone, so this seems to do the trick.

And I thought I was the only one technologically challenged !
I'll try and put it into our language, let's say you take too long of a video or too many pictures with your phone and, you over load it. This gives you the ability to down load to something in the field. It's like putting something small in your pocket that can expand your phones memory or, download a game camera you have in the field and then climb into your tree stand and watch what the camera caught in pictures or video by plugging it into your phone.
You could probably also load things onto it that you might want to read or watch while on stand, like having more hunting and fishing articles than you could carry, all in your pocket.

At least that's my take on it.
