Received my new 2 piece Whip from Dan Toelke late yesterday afternoon. We immediately spent some time together getting acquainted and if initial impressions mean anything we are going to have a long life together.
First off I love the bow bolt. That and the micarta riser add a little weight to the bow, although overall the bow is very light in the hand. Dan provides 2 endless loop strings with the bow. Not being a fan of this type string I immediately thought to myself that I was going to have to change it, but I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was. I used the string Dan had set up with a nock point and aside from setting the brace height no other tuning was necessary. The bow sent my GT 3555's down range in a flash. Smooth on the draw, fast and dead quiet. The standard thumb rest grip is very comfortable and provides consistent hand placement shot after shot. I spent another hour shooting it this morning and I think I'm falling in love.
Can I say "i told ya so". Ha ha. Enjoy!!!!
Pictures please! :)
Fred I can't believe you haven't sent me pics on my iPhone yet you old dog you..Must be so nice you didn't have time to snap those pics yet?

Fred I like it, nice contrast on the limb. It's a looker for sure.
How are we supposed to resist buying bows with these kinds of bows being turned out
been a lot of bows hung from that tree :bigsmyl:
"been a lot of bows hung from that tree" LOL
Great looking Whip!
Sure is a beauty Fred. You will have a hard time choosing between that and your next bow...
It sounds like you are healing up good too!
I have a one piece Whip that was given to me by a close friend. It is a awsome Bo'w and has gotten bloody multiple times. Such a quality piece. Good luck, she is a beauty.
Thats a beauty...congrats!
Fred,
It sure did turn out great and I know you will enjoy it and how lite it is in the hand and you will wonder how does it throw an arrow so quick for such a lite bow..
Yeah I'm with the others about that tree in your yard it has seen a many a bow and I think I am going to sneak in one night with my "Chainsaw" and :p
Fred,
Beautiful...
Very nice...enjoy.
God bless
Thanks guys. Those Toelke's really know how to build a bow.
Keefer, You stay away from that tree. There is still a couple more bows I need to hang from it :biglaugh:
Nice one Fred!!!!! :clapper: :clapper:
Fred Fred Fred,
I didn't quite finish.. I was just going to trim a few limbs with the chainsaw so you can hang them and get a little more light on the pretty woods in those bows.. :biglaugh:
Oh and I Bet your wife would Love to hang you from one those limbs Fred..
Great looking bow Fred !!!
Bill
Good luck with the new bow Fred...
Very nice!!!
Thats beautiful!
Very nice Brother!
Sweet bow...
God bless,
that is one nice looking stic, congrats
Thanks guys. The performance of this bow is amazing. I couldn't be happier with it. My recurve is going to be a dust collector.
Fred does that bow have a decent amount of weight in hand? I had a bow bolt Shrew a few years back that was perfect. I'm betting that yours would have almost the same feel as that one. I had a couple Toelkes, great bows. Never a 2-piece one...yet. rat'
Rat, yes it does. The micarta and bow bolt give the bow decent weight yet it's still light in the hand. I put a Thunderhorn quiver on it and it is perfect!
Way to go.
Very nice combo good choice.
Nice Fred!
Fred, by the way I love the Whip below I got from you. MLC

Marty, Glad to hear it. Dan makes some awesome bows. Since getting my Pika I've sold all my other bows, it's THAT GOOD !!!
Nice looking bow Fred, good luck with her!!
Fred that didn't take long....let see July to December 2015...6 months :scared:
And now all the "other" bows are gone to!
It use to be Larry on here that had a fast turn around on bow but he seems to have leveled off since he gotten his Big Foots.
:biglaugh: :jumper: :jumper:
Very nice!!
Nice Fred! I've shot a few of them and they are shooters.
Fred, Glad you found one you like but I am wagering the Pika will be sold off in a year lol.
Gotta keep it fun and exciting.... nothing wrong with that!
Very nice. I have a Whip Classic but really want to test drive a Whip.
Beautiful Bow!
Charlie, I'm a changed man since getting my Pika :bigsmyl:
Very nice, Fred and excellent choice. I acquired a 2 pc Whip Classic about a year and a half ago and it is my #1 bow now. I suspect you will like yours a lot! Mine is a Classic, with osage highlights, 62" and 50@26.
