My wife brought this guy home from a pet rescue (we have taken rescue dogs in the past with success). He's 8 weeks old at the picture. They claimed he is a lab/beagle mix but we are pretty sure he's all beagle or mostly beagle.
My wife said I could teach him to hunt. I am not much of a rabbit Hunter but am going to try to figure out how to train for blood tracking. I have some experience training pointers on birds. Hope this guy works out!
His nose is always on the ground....and you can tell he has a full head of steam.
I love the white tipped tail. It will be highly visible in the field

I may be just me but, I've never seen a white and black beagle. However, If he uses his nose as much as you say he does, I bet he will make an excellent tracking dog.
Cute looking pup, let us know how you make out!

Nice! Nothing but rescue dogs for me.
We got a rescue recently that was supposed to be lab/Bernese mountain dog, but approaching 9 months she's topped out and looks and sounds a lot like a beagle. I'm Going to try and make a tracker out of her too, but first mission is making her a great family dog.
