I am looking for a 75 grain adapter for some Simmons heads. I have the 165 grain tree sharks and would like them to be around 250 grains.
I have spoke with Dave at Simmons and he says they are 23/64. I would like for them to fit perfect if possible.
Thanks in advance,
Daniel
Also, how do you clean up your glue on heads? The inserts were put in with hot melt from big jim.
The biggest i've ever seen is 11/32. They should be a very good fit. I usually don't have too much glue that comes out when I glue my broadheads on. I don't even have to worry about clean up as far as that goes. If you do have to you can just pick it off,but you might be using too much glue if you have a bunch coming out.
I was actually referring to removing the current adapters and cleaning up the glue residue there. Sorry for me not explaining that very well
I usually heat them gently over an alcohol lamp and clean them out with a small wire brush from a spark plug tool. I've also used a tapered polishing stone on a Dremmel tool.

I use a 100 grain steel adapter that fits
the Tree Shark nicely giving a finished sharpened broadhead right at 250.
Which adapter is that? I want to be sure I get the right length adapter.

I use the 100 grain steel adapters that 3 rivers sells Daniel. I've never had any problem with them bending on deer or any other game I've shot. I have bent an alluminum adapter which was this last year on a deer that really ducked the string and I ended up hitting the vertebrea. But I've never had any trouble with the steel adapters and likely never will. I use an industrial grade hot melt glue that I get from a local business owner and it works great for me.
