Just got my therapy bow in the mail from Dan...Toelke Pika 54" 40#@28! Riser and overlays are highly figured curly quilted maple with black glass. I love black glass for hunting plus it really makes the maple stand out. It is as light as a feather. Only problem is I won't be able to shoot it for another 6-8 weeks due to my shoulder recovering for torn rotator cuff surgery. Dan was kind enough to send some wood scraps for a matching knife handle. I'll post a few of the knife once I get back to pounding hot steel...tippit
The pictures just don't high light all the vivid curls in the maple...

Jeff hope you have a great recovery.Take care my friend.Kip
best of luck with the recovery. shooting that beautiful bow will be a nice reward after the wait and patience for a surgery recovery
Very nice
That's one handsome lil sucker. Dan continues to outdo himself.
Looks great!
Pretty bow! Hope you heal up quickly!
SWEEEET looking bow Jeff  Hope you have a speedy recovery :archer:
Beautiful! Congrats!
I generally hate black glass, but I'm really digging it recently with maple!
Tippit, I wish you a speedy recovery. Shooting the pika is extremely rewarding. I love how the bow feels, weighs, looks. Yours is beautiful. I agree. The contrast between the black glass and the wood really pops.
That's a beauty Jeff!! goo luck with your recovery and the bow!!!
Pretty bow! Hope the therapy goes well so you soon shoot this baby. I lucked out. I've been in therapy for a couple of weeks but the doc does not think my shoulder will need surgery. The therapist is allowing me to use my bow as part of the treatment, but for right now, I must stick to low poundage. Maybe your therapist will be able to work the bow into your rehab regimen.
Good luck with the recovery Jeff. The bow should serve you well.
Prays for a speedy recoverery Tippit. Your really going to be surprised.
God bless,
Awsome
I think the Pika bug is infectious.
That's a pretty bow.... That mmaple is gorgeous!! Enjoy :)
Can you write that off as a medical expense? That is the kind of therapy we all need ;)
It is for stretching and increased range of motion. My surgeon is also a friend...so I'm sure I can get a medical excuse for it! At least I can tell my wife that :)

Beautiful bow Doc! I'll bet that she'll be a sweet shooter!
Keep the wind in your face!
Shoot straight, Shinken
:archer2:
Can't pull a bow yet but was able to get into my forge. Start of Toelke Pika matching Tippit knife. Dan sent me some riser wood and a few strips of black glass. Knife...OAL of 9 inches, blade 4 1/2 of inches forged from 52100 steel.
With a family reunion and a 5 day Mustang (horse)
training clinic coming up, I'll probably be a little slow getting the knife finished...tippit

Oh man. Nice bow. And I know that blade won't be too shabby either! Looking forward to seeing the finished combo..
Hope you have a speedy and successful recovery!
Good luck with the recovery. The project and therapy bow should help!
Jeff, The Bow is stunning and I think the knife will be as well.
Good luck on your recovery...
If you have never seen the Mustang training, it's absolutely incredible how quickly some trainers can earn the trust of the horse, then be able to work with it.
Charlie,
I'll be working with 25 different mustangs. My instructor was one of the Extreme Mustang Makeover trainers in the film "Wild Horse Wild Ride". August 7-8 is an Extreme Mustang Makeover event in MA. I'm planning on bringing one home for me!
Dang Jeff I kinda thought you were getting to be a hard of hearing old vet/hunter and knife maker.Be carful them mustangs kick.Kip :scared:
