Looking for a mentor, not a paid instructor.
There are thousands of good threads on here to answer any question you can think of. My advice is don't shoot to much poundage when you start out. Find something easy to draw for you. There are great books and videos all over thet can help you on your way.
If you have any specific questions you can hit me up at kshunter5@gmail.com. Or just post them here and guys will help you out.
Hey Andy,
I think Bud B. isn't looking for a mentor for himself, but for someone else. Could be wrong, but I don't think he qualifies as a "young archer"! :biglaugh:
Yeah, a new fellow to archery in the Wilmington area has a daughter that wants to take it up. He can't afford an instructor, after a search of some of the national certified instructor listings...they all want money to help out. She just wants to have fun and dad wants her to learn correctly.
I realize instructors become certified for their own reasons, and instruction takes time, but a young person needs some help in our beloved sport and we shouldn't let money stand in the way of that.
Dad has no idea I have asked on here.
Yeah that's my bad after I replied I realized that. Didn't have enough coffee before I posted haha.
No biggie. Seems the sharks have scared all the east NC folks into hiding, although many of our members here are not quite within reasonable driving range of Wilmington. I was hoping to fond someone maybe 10 minutes or so away.
