Saw another thread, and I just thought it would be nice to see some harvest pics from some heavier weight bows, even though a lot less people are using them. Post 'em if you got 'em.
These were taken with a Morrison ILF with carbon foam longbow limbs, 82# @ 29".

Pat. You don't look very happy. You missed another great "Ham" shoot again this year. How you liking OK?
I shot this delicious sow with my 85# Northern Mist. This picture is feeling kinda old, it must be about time to go hunting!!!

Nice looking sow there, Thom. It is always hunting time, lol.
David, I am smiling on the inside, lol. The sun was in my eyes, but I don't smile well for posed pictures.
Yeah. I have trouble manufacturing a smile on demand too. I'm sure you were very happy with those critters. I sure would be. Is that a "buff" from Down Under? Would love to go after one them.

Thank you, Ben!
I just love the camel pic hahaha
these are some great pics..it would be a blast to hunt Australia..thanks for sharing..
Brings a whole new meaning to "smoked a camel"!!!
Oh,to be young again :deadhorse:
You camel shooting son of a, but really how did that camel taste? I don't think I've every seen or met someone who's shot a camel. They got to be decent with some bacon.
These two bulls were left for the dingoes and eagles and crows and goannas and ants. They're feral, and there are too many of them. Also, conditions often dictate that meat can't be recovered, but numbers still need to be controlled. But, yes, camel meat tastes just fine.
Cool thread. I look forward to some pics of N.A. animals too.
No, I am not in the 70# plus club on trad gear. Congrats to you gentlemen who are though!

Ben ar'nt you worried about snakes down there ,running around in a pair of crocs?
David: That is awesome!
1Longbow: Not too worried, just got to be careful and stay out of the wrong places. Some places are worse than others. I wouldn't want to hunt in southern Australia with Crocs. Or a place with no cane toads. They've really helped make the place safer. I actually think you guys in North American have more to worry about with snakes than I do in this particular area. Having said that, there was one hunt we did a few hundred kilometres away where we had many close encounters with bad snakes - they may have been breeding or something - and they were angry. On that hunt, there was no way I would hunt without my boots.
23Feet, great catch!
:) first person to say something. Wish I could send you a new bow or something...
Love that bison

Yes they do
Truth be told, I can't hit the side of a barn with a light weight bow. I never could learn to turn loose of the string

Thanks Ben
Buff, that's the same for me! I just cannot shoot them properly. I thought it would be easier. I tried it, but no way could I do it!

Denny, you could probably post 97% of the animals you have killed with a bow.
Great pics everyone! Fun thread! Based on the majority of the pictures here it would seem there is a positive correlation between draw weight and size of game. I've dropped down in weight as well but maybe I need to start working my way back up the scale.
Michael- I'm looking forward to hunting with you as well. Can't wait to get after the big Okie bucks!

You are probably right. Great pics, Denny. Keep them coming.
Good stuff, 63 is all I can shoot now, but have always liked bows way over 50 lbs.
I killed this one last year. My first trad kill (or bow kill of any kind). I shoot a Bob Lee Signature recurve - 60", 70lbs @ 28" and I draw 29.5". Gold tip traditionals 75/95 with 100gr inserts, 150gr of additional weight up front, and Magnus buzzcuts 125gr. Total arrow weight is around 710gr.

Nice one's, Terry. Thanks for posting. Looks like your MOAB and Morrison Cougar, if I remember right.
Terry, looks like you have some good mojo in those bows. May I ask about the bison story or do you have an old thread about that hunt. Bison are one of my dream hunts.
Terry, What are the pounds of your bows ?

yes Morrison cougar and ThunderStick Moab those kill Bows are 70 pounds @28....... I have a MOAB that's 80 pounds but I have yet to kill anything with it as it's brand new and I haven't hunted much lately but its next in line let me tell you along with my 78 pound HH Bow.
My girls are keeping me too busy along with work to get much hunting done lately how did get the flying fish on Saturday but the water temperature was so hot we didn't do very good looking forward to bear season opening maybe the 80 pounder will take a bear ....we shall see.
Thanks guys

Yes look on the articles and stories forum there's a story there I think it's called a montana longbow adventure I would post a link but I'm on my phone and that's very difficult
So sorry I missed your post earlier I did not mean to ignore it..... but I have been dealing with a few idiotic kamikaze spam bombing posters who are bent on destroying this forum and trying to humiliate those of us who run it...... I know one guy who has spent nearly nine years of his life trying to destroy this forum I feel sorry for him he has nothing better to do with his life it's pitiful that this man lives in such misery
Terry\\'s story (http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=000120)
I forgot this one.....

I tell you what - some of the collections of successful hunts and trophies that some of you have put together with traditional equipment blows my mind!!!! Some of you guys are flat-out machines! I get impressed just about every time I spend some time on Tradgang.
Good stuff...keep 'em coming.
Forgot this one. Still looking for the pic of my color phase squirrels I shot with this bow. HH liked to name his bows so when I bought this bow I named it Joyce after my late grandmother. She was a no frills, straight and strong lady just like this bow. Digging up these old pics makes me want to take it to the woods again.
