Does anyone know how crepe myrtle would work for arrow shafts? I've read that it makes a good bow, but haven't heard about shafts. Thanks in advance.
all the crepe myrtle I've ever seen has been twisted, bent, and knotty. mostly twisted. if you find some straight enough, let us know how it works.
It works quite well. Alot of folks pollard prune them and these will yield alot of very nice shoots. I've found it to be very comparable to dogwood shoots. Harvest the shoots in the winter..get two year old shoots if possible.
