Getting Colorado ready for elk and wondering how accessible the arrows are while the pack is on. Never seen one in person so not a better place to ask than here! Been using a mini for several years with no problems, just looking to simplify.
I just order the Rancho Safari VII.5. Looks like what I want for the Elk woods. I don't like a bow quiver on my bow and humping the mountains with stuff on your back pretty much rules out a back quiver for me.
I've been meaning to try the Rancho Safari Cat Quivers for some years. I hope I like it
Arrows are really quite accessible. The only cons I personally had with a cat quiver is 1) It does take a couple of actual movements to get the arrow and get it to nock. 2) Depending on arrow length- the broadhead hood can be down around your butt which makes sitting and such cumbersome. I am sure neither of these are big issues for those who love them. When I used one- I liked having a single or double mini-type quiver on my bow for fast action. Nice piece of equipment though!!

Love my Cat 3.5. Use it for whitetails here when it rains or I have to carry more gear. Used it in Wyoming and Montana for elk hunting.

After you get used to them it is almost second nature getting an arrow out. Just lift up enough to clear the bottom and pull it out. Nice dual purpose item (Pack/Quiver) and they keep your feathers dry. I had one of the originals but it was a pain to wear with a fanny pack, so I bought the bigger model 3.5 I think it is. Does all I need. Hope this helps.
I've been using one for years and love it... the only downside that I have with it is that I'm not coordinated enough to get arrows back into it when it's on my back....
I still use it every hunt, though.

I love the #4, Has a great padded back like nice backpacks have. Used on numerous hunts out west and Canada.
I have a mini, two or three #2s and a #3. I got all but one of them used from other hunters who either upgraded to a larger pack or didn't like them?. I use mine for day and half day sits from Florida to Illinois.. I use the #3 the most "up North" since I can pack an extra set of outer wear or jacket in the large pouch to put on after hiking to and climbing into my stand.. I don't have problems getting an arrow out of the Catquiver 3, putting one back in may take a little practice though. A Catquiver 7 looks like a good one for all day hikes.
I use a Cat'1 here in FL and love it. Makes me feel like a woods ninja :D the only other quivers that even compare in handiness and ease of arrow removal with minimal movement IMHO are the Arrowmaster or Bowmate Elite.

I have 5 different cat quivers love them all. I use the cat quiver 4 1/2 when hunting on day trips from camp.
